I was hoping for a better experience
I was really hoping that the SpeechWare FlexyMike was going to be the Holy Grail of my microphone experiences after having owned several different microphones. First of all, I purchased this microphone to use it with Dragon NaturallySpeaking because I have heard quite a number of good things about this microphone and how it improves the recognition percentage. I bought this microphone with a high degree of enthusiasm and could not wait to start to use it.After having used the microphone for about one day I have decided that it is not for me for the following reasons:Cons:• Since the microphone is extremely lightweight it has a tendency to move around your head with the weight of the cable in place. You absolutely have to use the clip-on to try to prevent movement of the microphone, but after several attempts this does not seem to work for me. I tend to move my head quite a bit while working at the office in this microphone, at least in my head, does not stay in place.• When you tilt your head up and moves at a place.• For the price at which this microphone sells I am expecting superb build quality. Immediately after trying it out for several hours I noticed that the capturing of speech cut in and off. After doing some troubleshooting I have narrowed down the problem to the extension cord. It appears that it there is some flakiness in one of the ends in which if it is bent in a certain direction it stops capturing your speech. I definitely did not expect this one bit from such a high-priced item. This might be just bad luck and it might not be the case with every one of these microphones.• The in-ear headphone adapter was too big for my ear hole. This also did not stay in place and tended to fall out of place. The headphone should come with a silicone-based in-year headphone so that it stays in place and it should come with different sizes to accommodate for different peoples ear canals.Pros:• When the microphone was working during my brief trial I can definitely notice an improvement in my speech recognition over my pre-existing microphone when paired together with the SpeechMatic USB MultiAdapter.• The microphone is indeed very lightweight. This could be an advantage for those users that use a microphone for extended periods of time.Overall, I think that the Speechware FlexyMike can be a great microphone for those users in which it fits perfectly behind her head and tend not to move around too much when dictating.

Outstanding performance with Dragon speech recognition
I am using this together with a SpeechWare SpeechMatic USB MultiAdapter. The improved recognition accuracy with Dragon on both WIndows and Mac was immediately apparent. I depend on Dragon for work and after a few trials, I am already very pleased with this purchase (together with its USB hub).

Faulty
This was a disaster. I tried it directly into the laptop as well as with two increasingly expensive usb adaptors. No sound was recorded, only static. If I wiggled the plug or held it tight, it recorded some sound - but mostly static. I returned it but the seller did not believe the microphone was faulty and send it back. I tried it on other laptops and with other configurations. It was completely useless and is just a lot of wasted money. I might have gotten a faulty device, but am very frustrated with the seller who did not want to believe my troubles.

The best microphone for Dragon Natural speaking I have tried
The best microphone for Dragon Natural speaking I have tried. Somehow it helps to improve accuracy which I thought was impossible to improve..It is light and does not create any bad feeling after a long session.Update after 5 years of use: still the best microphone I have used for Dragon NaturallySpeaking... I wish it were cheaper so I would buy it for my laptop as well.

I recommend it highly
With the SpeechMatic USB multi-adapter this has been one of the most accurate and cost effective DNS microphones for me to date. I recommend it highly.

This is easily the most accurate microphone I've used with Dragon Naturally Speaking, it has pretty good noise filtering too so it's reasonably accurate in extremely noisy environments, but quiet environments however it's almost 100% accurate. Of course this presupposes good dictation habits. As long as you properly enunciate and speak clearly with this it will be like gold. That said even if you are a sloppy dictator, and are in a noisy environment to boot, you will still be surprised by the accuracy you can get from this. It really is that good. It's also extremely light weight.
