Rain-Bird Controller Indoor Outdoor Lawn Irrigation Sprinkler Timer ESPME3 (Controller Only)

This is a great controller system. I had an older model RainBird controller and replacing it was an easy installation. Coupled with the rain sensor and wifi add-on, I can now control all aspects of my sprinkler system with the iphone app to prevent unnecessary watering.

This replaced the exact one we bought when we built our home 9 years ago. I do not know what the life span should be - so I hope this one lasts long enough.

Great , replaced old controller , easy fix and easy programing

Only negative is the modules from older controller do not work in the new controller. Other wise very easy install - direct replacement for old controller. I'm only using 10 zones so had to purchase new 6 zone module to go inside. Entire replacement took less than 30 minutes. (including validation and writing one program).

The sprinkler timer included a lock but no key. I contacted Rain-Bird customer service and was told to take my issue up with Amazon. Contacted Amazon customer service and was told that the best they could do was to offer a ten dollar credit. I accepted the credit and pick the lock as needed (lousy lock). Note: I never did receive the credit. I have nothing bad to say about the operation of the unit. Reliable and easy to program. However, I would not rely on the lock if it was to be mounted outdoors where others could access it.

Took about 15 minutes to snap a picture of the wires on my old timer, remove it, and install and wire the new model. Love the battery backup and lighted display on the new model. Easy to program.

I've had this controller for a couple years now. Overall it seems pretty decent as a wired controller. However, this, coupled with the LNK wireless module has an absolutely terrible history of randomly being able to connect or not. It is extremely unreliable. The controller itself sits in my garage about 10 feet from a wireless network range extender that runs several other devices very reliably. I have attempted to restart the wireless setup process several times to no avail. This could be such an awesome addition to a sprinkler system but it is simply too unreliable when trying to control the system remotely.
