This (Zooka) is an excellent sound enhancing option as speakers go
I'm not big on writing products reviews do when I do, I am either truly impressed. This (Zooka) is an excellent sound enhancing option as speakers go. It's compact, easy to transport. Works exceptionally well when using 3.5 audio cable (reason I bought it for my iPad 2 and my elderly parent's android/Irulu tablet). I was sooooo impressed with its features: really blasts in sound power (improving the iPad audio system which sucks in sound volume). As well, it works great with the Irulu tablet, which has greater sound capacity than iPad, but, again not great either). This speaker's construction also holds any thin/slim equipment, has a good stand support and will not easily damage screens, etc enabling you to keep the speaker beside the tablet, laotop etc if not connected to the unit's frame. It even fits over some thin covers that we keep our tablets in. The silicon has a pleasant touch and the colors I have (pink, purple and grey) have depth/good pigments. After testing one to see if it would meet my needs (certain things I was looking for concerning my parent's ease of access and use and my own particulars, I bought 6 more to share with friends, family. Each person and their households have said the speakers are fantastic - and the sound generated can be heard in different areas within their houses. The battery charge is also exceptional - play time is approx 10 hrs plus...and lasts over several days when minimally used. Easy to sync with Bluetooth devices; charges well.I was delighted to find this product at such reasonable pricing ($12-$15), for the quality it provides. Having researched YouTube and the web concerning its utility and comments from other buyers I agree with the critical issue regarding this product - it does crackle/pop some when in Bluetooth mode and for that reason it isn't a good deal at its pricier offering, and there's just not enough 'stuff: bells and whistles' to pay more than $20 (sold initially for $89-99 when first introduced to market). As stated - when using a well made audio cable you get exceptional connectivity, clarity and sound (no popping/cracking). I bought a cheaper two-pack cable set and had to return it as soon as I plugged it into my iPad and Irulu units because it popped and crackled. I bought the Anchor's 3.5 cable - excellent construction, quality and is a superb cable also). So, if you are looking for utility, functionality, good sound quality from low to high registers, a real deal on pricing, options on connection to equipment, and nearly indestructible - than buy this first generation Zooka. If Carbon Audio comes out with a next generation I think this one will still be all I need. I have two for myself (1 is my back up, for trips, outings, when company visits). At present, there's no need for me to buy any more speakers (and I have 3 other brands that I tried and retired long before getting this Zooka!)

Zooka a small sized sound Bazooka
This is my 2nd Zooka. I absolutely love them. The Zooka is a kind of strange looking gadget which has a nice slot at the bottom intended to hold a tablet. A slot? Simple, but oh so useful. I took a Zooka and slid it over the top of a golf cart compartment edge. Fits perfectly, so now you can listen to all your favorite music while golfing or just putting around. It also has a little kickstand which you slide out and screw into the bottom of it to prop it up in case you don't feel like using the slot or just feel like setting it on top of a table. The Zooka has a nice rubberized coating so I'm not afraid of dropping it. It also seems to be pretty weather resistant as I have gotten it wet a few times without any issues. Beach tested approved for sure but I probably wouldn't swim in the ocean with it.Bluetooth pairing with a device is simple and flawless. It just requires a button press on the Zooka and accepting the pairing request on your device (whatever platform it may be, I paired it with an Android phone and an iPhone).Speakers are pretty powerful considering the size. I can hear it easily when 100 feet away from the speaker and even have to turn down the volume when listening to it so as not to annoy the neighbors when I'm outside working while jamming to my tunes.Battery life is very very good. It uses a standard usb charger, which we all have plenty of. How long does the charge last? I'm not sure. I have listened to it for hours and have never had it go dead. When I put it away, I just plug it in and it is ready for the next day.In short, get yourself a Zooka, try different colors, mix and match, discover new uses for them, and take them with you where ever you need portable sound.

Quality device at a bargain price.
Bought one of these two years ago for $99 from the kickstarter company that started it. But, the company didn't take off... not because the product is not good but because there was an explosion of these type of speakers with bigger companies/better marketing behind them right at the same time or just after this was introduced. This is a quality product at an extremely good price. Since they have been "job lotted" out to suppliers and are selling at 16-30$ we have bought three more! They fit nicely on the treadmill, sound is good; probably not for an audiophile but for someone who wants to watch videos while working or walking on the treadmill, its great. The device has a built in microphone and speaker which can be used with a phone/Facetime etc. (If you don't have a phone/Bluetooth connection built into your car, you could use this). Also love the built in "handle" and stand. Your ipad/tablet slides tightly into the slit at the top of the tough materials and does not fall out. The speaker itself then serves as a non-slip handle while carrying the device. Slip in the "kickstand" and its a stand. The one "con" is that the speaker control buttons are in an awkward spot when using it as a stand. Its very rugged (have brought it camping/use it on the deck) and has a nice clean elegant design.
