Simply amazing!
What an exceptional machine. This is my second Juki as well as my second serger. I was excited to unbox and try out this serger. There was a small amount of oil on lower part of the machine, as mentioned by other reviewers. I used a paper towel and degreaser to wipe everything down without any trouble. Threading was simply a breeze. Best of all, I was impressed with how quite and steady it ran. No vibration of the table and what beautiful stitches. I tried various settings and fabrics and everything worked great. Next I will remove left needle and try rolled hems and light sheer fabrics. Also, excited to see how it will perform on curves. So glad I made this purchase. Highly recommend it to any sewer, beginner or experienced.

I love the machine and did not intend to take a class in sergering. I followed the DVD tutorials and they were pretty good, until the last three tutorials when they ran on and skipped demonstating important things. When I got confused I contacted SewVacDirect and a person named Lisa coached me through the rolled hem giving me advice and asking me to send her pictures. She had to go home on a Friday night, but contacted me first thing Saturday morning to pick up where we had left off. The problem was that one tutorial directed me to engage the upper looper converter. The next tutorial on 3 thread roll hem did not direct me or teach me how to disengage it. The manual is helpful especially the stitch chart. As suggested, I adjust the tension and when I am happy with it, I cut out a fabric and stitch sample, then staple it to a 3 by 5 card with a record of the tensions and settings so that I can replicate it another time.

Juki MO-1000 Serger
Since my eyesight has declined, it is hard trying to thread my serger, so it was time for a push button threader. It was difficult threading the machine because once I pushed the button for the threading, the air was pushing the thread away instead of sucking it into the machine. With much difficulty I was able to thread the machine. After using the machine for three weeks, I loved it until I had to re-thread it. The machine was defective and too costly to have to struggle with the threading process. Therefore, I had to return it.The MO-1000 comes with a plastic catcher to collect the trimmings. The basket that catches the trimmings doesn't fit flush enough to catch everything. The actual sewing of the machine and adjusting the various knobs was an easy task and I was pleased with how the stitches looked. I didn't like that you had to resew over the stitches in order to secure the threads from unraveling. This isn't necessary with my other serger.

AMAZING MACHINE! Thrilled with this serger
AMAZING MACHINE! Thrilled with this serger. Setup was a breeze. The easiest threading - between air threader for loopers + the right/left needles. Air threader is the best feature, however, not mentioned much in product description is how easy it is to thread the right/left needles - at the point of threading the needle eye, there is this 'clip' you push the thread into and lift the lever and the needle is threading. No squinting, magnifier glass,no frustration. Only thing is that CD/DVD that came with machine didn't auto run in my computer, but there is same thing on YouTube so was no issue. This is a MUST for any serious sewer.

Very disappointed
I bought this air threader machine for the ease of threading. It worked great for a couple months, then the air threader wouldn’t thread. Sent it to Miami and they fixed it. It worked one time, and messed up again. I can only thread it using the manual wire threader, and have found if I don’t buy canned air to clean it out after each use, tiny pieces of thread block the threading tubes and won’t thread at all. Takes hours to troubleshoot and work on, because Juki in Miami doesn’t want to help. Sorry I bought this expensive serger. Such a headache!

Not as easy as it sounds to use it
I bought it because it said easy to use easy to thread. You have to get inches of thread down in this tiny little whole for auto threading to work.rather.rather disaappointed ,i would return it but i went in the hospital and return date passed

The best serger I ever expect to own
This is a wonderful serger. It is incredibly easy to thread the upper and lower loopers. The advertisements fail to mention that threading the one or two needles is not quite so easy. There is a threader for the needles and it works—sort of. But I found a good set of magnifying glasses and a steady hand worked much better. The Juki has only a little vibration and doesn't make my sewing table jump up and down any more. And the serged seams are near perfect with only a very rare slip. To look at those beautiful seams is worth all the effort. A serger has many adjustments and it will produce horrible stitches if not adjusted properly. I thought I knew sergers but I found that some time with the manual did pay off.I don't use a serger as much as I used to; I find an advanced sewing machine is often more satisfactory. But when you really need a serged seam, this Juki is one beautiful answer. Guy Marc Foster
