The Graphic Guide To Finding The Perfect Job
At first, I was a little skeptical that this book was what I was after. You see, I'm now in my 30s & looking for way to change careers while developing my resume; I was initially worried this book was too much aimed at a younger audience. Indeed, I wish I had had this book fall into my lap 10 years ago. I sought this book out specifically because all of the DK books I own are excellent. Thankfully, this was no exception. This book is amazing & gives you step-by-step instruction for a slew of different careers. Highly recommended for those in high school, but also for older folks like myself who are "Stuck" in their careers & want a solid framework to plot their future. Because of this book, today I landed a job that I had not considered --Now that's what I call a solid $14 investment!Thank you, DK!

Might get your teen-ager excited about school (really?)
According to my highly qualified spy net (my daughter & her husband), my 15-year-old granddaughter is actually reading this book, cover to cover. Shazam! Before giving her this book, I scanned through it & liked what I saw. The book makes excellent use of color, white space, & diagrams, so as to draw a teen's attention to possible career paths based his or her specific interests & aptitudes. Further, it does a very good job of laying out the necessary skills, interests, & potentials of each of the MANY careers that it covers. It does this in such a way that it can get a teen to see school as a path to an exciting future. As a former High School teacher (I'm retired now) I have observed that getting a teen to WANT to study hard in school is much easier if that teen has a specific career goal in mind. This book can help get that to happen.

Use with "Soar With Your Strengths" by Donald Clifton
This book is missing only 2 things that would make it a complete go-to career guide. #1. A simplified approach to understanding a person's working strengths, weaknesses, satisfactions, and dissatisfactions and how to correctly identify them for each person based on his or her work experiences. And #2, a simple, short, specific, step-by-step system between the discussion of Strengths & Weaknesses etc. and the career catalog included in this book. If the simplified discussion of career Strengths, Weaknesses, Satisfactions, and Dissatisfactions were present with a system, then a person could simply match his/her own strengths, weaknesses, satisfactions, and dissatisfactions with specific careers in this same book. Thus arriving at the ultimate, unique fit for each individual. Otherwise, this book is amazing for its organization of major careers and roles, its presentation of such careers with colors and graphics, and its details for each, especially introducing the often overlooked concept of "career paths". Check out Donald Clifton's book "Soar With Your Strengths" to use as a companion piece with this career catalog. Good luck!

Career counselor at your fingertips
My teenager got this as his only tangible gift at Christmas. His big gift was a one-on-one trip with Dad. I wanted him to have something to open. He’s been verbal about his future planning and has been actively looking up colleges with his interests. He thumbed through this guide for HOURS on Christmas Day and has continued to pick it up a couple times each week since then. It’s given him new career fields to research and look into, based on his interests. He shows it to friends who come over, and they end up thumbing through it too. It’s given us different paths to consider for/with him than what he originally honed in on. It’s like having a high school guidance counselor or career counselor on your bookshelf! Well worth the dozen or so bucks.

Great book for all ages!
I bought this book for myself. I'm in my late 30's, have a 4-year degree, and have lots of experience in multiple careers.I'm in between jobs after my position was eliminated due to an acquisition. I thought this book could guide me in a few directions. Despite the book being geared more towards recent graduates, I feel this book can shed light on some new career ideas. I shared it with my 9-year old nephew, and even he found it interesting and was reading through it! I think this book can help anyone at any age :-)

My grandchildren love this book and it is opening up their world of ideas to them.
My grandchildren love this book and it is opening up their world of ideas to them. I have grandchildren different ages and the older ones have grown into this book. They love it and I love it because it gives us so many things to read and talk about. I love the fact that it has opened up a whole new world to them and they are thinking about their opportunities in the future. This is a great thing.

Very minimal information
They should add a little more details about each profession
