It’s the kind of book that messes with your head in all the right ways and keeps you guessing until the very last second.The story follows Alicia Berenson, this insanely talented artist who, out of nowhere, shoots her husband and then stops talking completely. Like, not a single word. Enter Theo Faber, a psychotherapist who’s determined to figure out what went down. What’s so cool is how the book switches between Theo’s investigation and Alicia’s old journal entries—it’s like peeling back layers of a mystery.And let me just say, THE TWIST. I’m usually pretty good at figuring these things out, but this one hit me like a freight train. It’s so smart, so sneaky, and so satisfying that I immediately wanted to go back and reread it just to see all the clues I missed.The writing is dark and atmospheric, but it’s also super easy to get into. I just finished this book and I'm blown away by how this author crafted this story as well as he did for a debut novel, I'd read so many great reviews and recommendations online for "The Silent Patient" but was hesitant to read it. The cover didn't appeal to me. There were several reasons, but I can't remember them all at the moment. Let's just say curiosity got the better of me.So I started reading and I really wasn't drawn in at first. In fact, I considered stopping at page 49. However, I knew I needed to at least give it another 50 pages,or so and I am SO glad I did! I encourage you to stick with it no matter what. This novel is just WOW! Having just read it, I am still reeling. It winds and turns and weaves what seems confusing or contradictory messages, but it's worth the ride! There is no doubt that this is a psychological thriller that will stay with you. All of those reviews and recommendations out there mean something! I thought the last lines of the book kind of faded out the end, but it wasn't like a cliffhanger, more poetic because you know the end without any doubt at the conclusion. I loved the style and I just flat out highly recommend this book! READ IT!

At first it’s slow and then it keeps you on your feet. The twist is okay but the ending is just not for me. What happens next ? Overall it’s okay.
