The author was a very good friend of mine
The author was a very good friend of mine. His untimely passing was a blow to the world of jazz, I bought this book as a gift for a friend who teaches HS vocal music. She was amazed that I knew Steve Zegree. She said she is learning so much from this book, and will incorporate many of his ideas into her music program.

A great read for music teachers and students alike!
Dr. Steve Zegree, the choirmaster behind Nick Lachey's "Team Lachey" champion of NBC's "Clash of the Choirs" short-lived TV show puts his teaching philosophy into a highly informative and enjoyable book. Only one chapter deals with the TV show, but it shows how Steve's educational philosophy was used to create a winning choir.Steve's premise is simple: everyone has attended a concert, performance, or similar event which left you with a simple response - "Wow!" What is it about that event that inspired what he refers to as "The WOW Factor".Whether you agree or disagree with his viewpoints, it makes for a thoughtful read. I recommend it to any musician who wants to know just what is required to truly "wow" an audience! This should be required reading for any music education student in college. It's a fun, fast read.
