Just what I needed for my application

I purchased (20) 3/8" hooks for my roll of 3/8" shock cord. When I doubled the cord-ends over and clamped them together with a hog ring (like you're supposed to do), the end pieces wouldn't fit inside the hook's casing. I was dumbfounded. The problem is that the spring portion of the hooks is cylindrical in shape. But it is has to be cone shaped (viz. wider at the top than than where the cord enters). I called the seller. They said that their 3/8-inch hooks don't work with 3/8-inch shock cord. And testing shows that they don't work with 1/4-inch shock cord, either. These hooks are a well-made, but have No Utility Value.

it would have been better if the cut ends were either dipped in plastic or capped.

Great for exact fit for specific need. I used to hold seat covers on.

You can purchase bungee cords already made up with similar hooks cheaper than buying the hooks and making your own.
