Seems to work fine on both a Mac and MBP.
Nothing fancy and not too expensive for a USB adapter that will also read your SD cards and has a pass-through USB connector. Seems to download fast enough and works well with both my MacBook Pro and my beefed-up Mac Pro 5.1 (2009 and flashed to 2010) machine.
