Great shock pad
I have had these shock pads on my new board for one week now with skating every day. They are completely squashed down, but I have had no stress cracks yet. On my past decks, with rubber shock pads, I would get little stress cracks. With no shock pads at all, I would get long stress cracks, on account of my large size (6'2", 220 pounds). The Dooks shock pads aren't thick, springy rubber with lots of rebound like some shock pads. They're more like natural rubber, a true cushion instead of a a riser pad. I don't feel the trucks squishing around like with the thick rubber shock pads, and the pads don't raise the trucks up so much that I feel like I have to push down extra hard to get my tail or nose to tap in ollies and nollies, respectively. But probably the best testament I can give for these shock pads is that the board has the same pop and feel as a board without shock pads, but is quiet and free of stress cracks like a board with shock pads. Truly the best of both worlds. These are my new favorites.Note: unlike many 1/8" shock pads, you won't have to get 1" hardware to mount these. They'll do best with 7/8" hardware.

Takes Out Some Vibrations, But That's About It.
These shock pads are actually made of a dense foam material, maybe somewhat similar to PU cushioning on running shoes, but a lot less springy. There is some give, and they compress to about 1/16" after they are mounted. I used 1" hardware to mount them, but you'd probably be fine with 7/8" hardware as well. They do protrude from the truck baseplate a little, but can easily be trimmed to be flush with a razor blade or utility knife once your trucks are mounted. If you're using them in combination with a hard riser pad, put them against the deck before putting the hard riser pad and your trucks on the board. They do seem to take out some of the vibration while riding, but they don't do much to prevent stress cracks. I ended up taking them off my board after a couple weeks because I was getting wheelbite with my 57mm wheels and wanted to put a set of 1/8" risers on my setup. When I took them off, I had stress cracks that were about the same as I'd get with no risers or shock pads at all. I weigh 175lbs and used these on an 8.25" name brand street deck. I don't jump down huge stair sets either.Overall, these are worth a shot, just don't expect miracles from them.

not what i thought...
These are not dooks shock pads as shown above, they are dooks riser pads. Shock pads are made of foam to reduce impact on your skateboard, these are simply hard plastic riser pads to help raise your board slightly.

Good if you do no tricks that involve leaving the ground
They crushed into my trucks and didnt provide any support at all. I would like to try out shock pads, but never again these
