Calutech Blueray High Output UV Air Purifier - with Free Oxycat Sleeves and 10 year Warranty

Installed by a Electrician friend of the family he said it was easy did it in 20 minutes. Have been used about 4 weeks now at my Parents home. It was installed just before my Dad came home from the hospital from pneumonia. He beat it and is doing well. I believe the Calutech Air Purifier helped in his recovery. I highly recommend this unit.

From start to finish both Amazon and Calutech were extremely helpful in the decision to purchase this or the less powerful model. The model was installed about 1 month ago and though 100% of the musty odor in our home isn't gone, we have noticed a significant improvement (and note we have no signs of any water infiltration, mold, etc...we had some minor flooding in the basement 6 years ago and even though we appropriately remedied this our home has had a bit of a musty odor since then). I am extremely happy with the unit and the service I received both from Amazon and Calutech.

So honestly I can't say that it has changed my life, etc. There are just too many variables when it comes to allergies and mold and stuff to reasonably attribute to 1 source.But since installation I have noticed a significant decline in mold in my vents. Yeah it isn't gonna magically kill the mold already in your vents, but once I bleached and cleaned them, it may have helped prevent regrowth. It probably helped that I also fixed the AC bowl so it wouldn't dump water down my ducts...When you look at cost vs specs you can clearly see that Calutech is a winner. This one here has a whopping 120 watts of power, which is a ton compared to most models you will see with only 30W or 10W.Remember that this 120Watts is total power which is Joules per second and is distributed around the lighted area. Stuff that gets exposed has a very short exposure time and is only going to pick up a tiny percentage of the total power emitted due to the exposure time and how small the object is.Its just like when you walk through a room. How much of the total light output of a light bulb in the room did you absorb? Even if you walk really close to the light, you are surely only absorbing a small percentage.So you need a lot of output for it to kill or disable any organisms. However, the main thing I wanted it for was to keep mold from growing around the wet areas in the AC itself. For this purpose, it is fantastic! The light is always shining so mold really doesn't have a chance.This light has filters to ensure it doesnt transmit 180nm ozone-creating UV which is good. You definitely don't want an ozone generator in your attic!Make damned sure you don't look at the UV light when installing. 260ish nm wavelength UV can mess up your eyes and cause cataracts. It is not like the 380nm stuff that is used for currency-lights and viewing scorpions and parties.

Install was not that tough, AS LONG AS U READ THE INSTRUCTIONS line up, level etc the "template". After 2 holes for the bulbs & 4 screw pilot holes, it was quite easy, although READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY, since there are some subtle nuances, like which bulb to insert 1st, it matters or they'll break!Plugged in, turned on & saw the cool blue glow. After a day or 2 the house was "fresher", no "stale" air..................................................................................................................It seems a bit pricey at 1st but it's a quality product, has a good warranty, relatively easy to install & does what it claims, so what more can you ask?OBTW mine had the OxyCat sleeves already on the bulbs, nice touch.

Easy install if you've got a 2" hole saw (if not, they're not too expensive to order at the same time here on Amazon). Well packed and protected, good installation manual. Happy with the higher power output for this, which I have some hope might affect airborne particles moving through the HVAC system, as opposed to units that are designed to only affect surfaces such as condenser coils.

I purchased this product after a recommendation for a UV light from my HVAC worker. He showed me the growth on the coils in the furnance. But the UV unit he wanted to sell me was not nearly as powerful and equal to the cost of this product. So I bought this one and installed it on my own. Installation was slightly challenging, but the directions are adequate. I emailed them with a question late on a Friday night, and to my shock I received a response from a third shift worker at the company. Great service! The product has been running for less than 24 hrs, so it is too early for an overall verdict, but I am optimistic. Seems of good quality.
