Good choice for us
We have 3 of these and they have done well for us. its been more than 3 years since purchase & its time to replace them (kids love flashlights) My husband likes the grip for running in the dark...keeps the skunks away in a rural area. The only brand better is the maglight for the metal body. And yes, you do have to change batteries gingerly.

Bad flashlight
The flashlight lasted only about two months before it refused to work. I thought it was the batteries, but realized there was a design defect in the flashlight. I should have gone to the 99 cent store.

Shoddy equipment
Having bought this flashlight abt 2 yrs ago, I went to change batteries and the plastic ring/housing that screws off came apart upon the mere action of unscrewing it.
