An almost required add-on
Because of the longevity that this add-on gives the core game of Battlelore, I would say that any fan of the original game should purchase it. That being said, it simply replaces a point-buy system for a random card deployment system (which can be random and not so balanced) and does not add any new units (do not expect to get any more armies in this one). Also, a tad pricey.

Pricey?
This was a gift for my Grandsons and they seemed to enjoy playing it. I'm not convinced that it will hold their attention for ong once the 'new' has worn off. Also, considering what is actually included, it is a bit overpriced.

fun game
I would recommend this to any one. this is not one of those nerdy games. we play it with our kids and we have a blast!

Adds so much to the base game
I bought this expansion to add more depth to the already-great Battlelore base game. Success! I love what this expansion adds to the gameplay and strategy of Battlelore! The rule book is very easy to understand and allowed me to set up and use the expansion withing minutes! The components are of the same quality as the base game and fit seemlessly with the original components. It's easy to add but also easy to remove from the game if you simply watn to return to playing the original Great addition! Be warned, however, that this expansion is for the 1st Edition of Battlelore; it CAN'T be played with 2nd Edition.
