Five Input Source Tabletop Control Switch Box Internal Pc Board Design Metal Case

Buy this if you want a lot of cross-talk between RCA cables
I like how robust it is made. Great tactile and solid feel when switching inputs. But all that is ruined by the bleed-over between inputs. This is due to circuit board design. I opened it up after one of the inputs started cutting out. Turns out it is a broken solder connection on an RCA jack on the circuit board. The board has massive traces that have lots of 90 degree corners instead of 45's. Such large copper traces for a low level RCA signal is not necessary, and all grounds are tied together, and the result is bleed-over between inputs. I was also picking up a radio station from somewhere on a disconnected input. I have a large amp, so most folks with an amp under 75w/ch probably won't notice unless it's cranked to the max. Note: It can also function as a 1 input, 5 output selector switch.

It's cheap and it works.
This works, I have not had a problem with noise like the other people seem to have, there is SOME bleed over if you crank it and listen super close or use a scope to read the noise in the sweep... but if you are going to use it as an audio switcher, you will likely not be playing from the unused equipment anyway. It is pretty well isolated but like i said, if you are PLAYING heavy signals into the inputs on channels you aren't using at the moment, like if you are pumping an amped CD or 4 Track signal into it and using it as a direct output to a mixer, that's going to cause some bleed over if you are on a channel while still playing through an adjacent channel... well no s*it.But if you are using it for low voltage type signals, like line, aux, cd1, cd2, preamped phono1, premped phono2, into your amp, you should not have a problem, and will also likely not be running everything all at once anyway. This is an input switch, not a DJ toy. So yeah, you should be fine it's cheap and it works.

Inexpensive, No weird noises, Does what it says it does
I bought this to switch audio sources to my hi-fi stereo amp. The overall build quality is decent, and considering how simple the functionality is that's fine. The PCB inside is a single-sided etch, and the switch is made by Alpha (a reputable brand). My only quibble is regarding how some insulating was done. The internal solder tabs of the RCA connectors cross over some traces on the PCB, which has a solder resist layer, and for "extra" insulation this unit had plain old masking tape placed over those traces to keep the RCA solder tabs off of them. It's perfectly fine, although a little cheest. Kapton tape is what should have been used, but it all boils down to cost. Anyway, I desoldered everything, put in some Kapton tape and popped it all back together. It makes no difference to the sound, but I am less concerned about signal lines shorting out now.How is the audio quality? It's completely unaffected as far as I can hear, which isn't really a surprise. It's a switch and there are no active or passive components anywhere in there. When switching sources, there is no popping or crackling. So from an audio perspective this thing does what it is supposed to do without any problems.Note that this unit is lightweight and large/stiff RCA cables weigh more than enough to tilt the front of the unit up into the air.

Works but does need just a few modifications
First I am using this to go from one input my computer into several outputs. With my monitor speakers no interference was noticed but when used with sensitive headphones their was a noticeable hum or interference. After removing the top two and back bottom two screws I used packing tape to line the PCB and then put two layers of aluminum foil over. After putting it back together the headphones remained silent when selected with muted sound and clear when playing anything from my library. All in all for the price not bad.

Great Input Source Switch
I bought this switch to replace an older pushbutton switchbox whose switches were wearing out. This one is solidly built and functions as expected. Arrived on time and in good condition. I switch between a satellite radio receiver, a streaming port, a DAC, the TV and BluRay player. This switch works well for me.

Does what it is suppose to
I Have had this switch box for just about a Year and up to about 2 months ago it has worked fine. I have recently noticed that the left channel on my audio system was going out, after looking into this I found that if I moved the selector switch from the input that I was using to another and then back again the left channel would come back on, I do not change the selection very much so I would not think this should cause a problem anyway. I have not had the time to look into this any further but when I do I will update the findings. I just wanted to put this out there for your information as I thought the problem was with my system which it was not.

Works, decently made, but very light. Weights inside improve the experience.
This box is reasonably well made and works well, it's just too lightweight. If you run the knob too quickly or carelessly, it feels like you might accidentally bump it onto the ground(but you won't). Bolting it down or putting something heavy inside makes it feel way better, and almost makes it feel like a solid part of a desk or table, instead of a box sitting on top.The knob feels very stable, with no wiggling or wobbling. It makes make a very audible, but not too loud click when you select an input.Really, I doubt going to get anything better than this if you want a switch box that feels solid, works well, and is cheap.

A great and long lasting switchbox
I have a couple of these switch boxes that I have been using for over 15 years now and are still working great. The only difference is they are 4 input vs the 5 these are. A year ago I needed a couple of more switch boxes and bought a couple of the cheaper switch boxes. They have not been at all satisfactory, one of them broke and the other one developed crosstalk. Having learned my lesson I just bought 2 of these and they are just as well made as the ones I bought over 15 years ago. They are a quality switch box and will last a long time with a little care.
