great stand for stability, portability, and flexibility
i had three key requirements that i was looking for in a stand:(1) stability(2) portability(3) flexibilitythis stand exceeded my expectations in all three.(1) stability - using 2 foot lengths for the ground supports (four of them) makes for an extremely stable stand (front to back). included are two 'L' shaped supports that when pushed into the ground makes the stand even more stable (on a windy day).(2) portability - i used the clevis pin idea (i went with 5/16s, but 1/4 would work)) to hold in the ground supports as other posters recommended (instead of the supplied bolts/screws for a permanent attachment of the supports to the frame). the stand itself provides the capability to remove the uprights and the center piece of wood via supplied 'knobs'. all of this allows for a quick set up and breakdown of the stand for traveling.(3) flexibility - since everything can be adjusted whenever you want the stand provides the utmost flexibility if you want to use higher uprights, wider targets, etc. - now or in the future.Note: you need to supply your own wood. AND, make sure the 1x2s measure 3/4" x 1.5". some 1x2s measure less than that and might be a bit wobbly in this stand.overall this is a great stand for trips to the range. easy to set up and break down while being highly stable and customizable.for the price it is a good value. looks like it will last for 20 years.recommended.

Simple and portable
This target stand is the item I been looking for. It is so simple and portable. I assembled it quickly and it is sturdy. I did not use the screws that came with it. I wanted to break it down easily and I wanted all the pieces to remain with each other for ease of transport and storage. I went to the hardware store and purchased 1x2 furring strips: (2) 6 foot, (2) four foot. I purchased 4 pins, 1/4” in diameter, 2 inches in length. I cut one 4 foot 1x2 furring strip into 4 pieces for the legs. I fit those pieces in the base and drill 1/4 holes in to the wood. I then inserted the 1/4 “ pins into the holes to hold them into the base. They where a bit tight, but the held them in place nicely. Next I took the other 4’ 1x2 furring strip and inserted then into the base. I did not cut this strip, I wanted to be able to adjust the width, based on the targets I use. The metal strips that are included, I had to bend them so the line up with the holes for the knob studs. Once I installed the knobs, I slid the 1x2 into the base. I had to push up on the metal tab so the furring strip could slide in. Once I done both sides. I left them on. I installed the metal strips for the upright supports and did the same thing to get the knob stud to line up. I need to purchase 2 Velcro strips to secure the up right strips and the “ legs”. See attached pictures. I scribbled numbers in the base strip, not the best. I probably will use a label maker.

I hope you have a welder…
The first time that I set my stands up, one of the welds broke that hold on a nut, one that’s used for holding one of the wooden target sticks. There’s only a need to lightly tighten the bolts, which I did. But the weld broke anyway. Now I’m waiting on the next one to break. Grrrrr

Simple efficient paper target standstand
I used five 8' 1"x2" (.75" x 1.5") inexpensive furring strips. Two 4' uprights, four 2' legs, one 4' cross piece for each stand. I like the adjust ability of the brackets and the convenient knob-ed fastening screws . The assembled stand are lightweight, disassemble for easy storage and transport, and very stable. The leg brackets are angled downward to compensate for uneven ground. I used 1/4" x 1.5" carriage bolts and wing nuts instead of the provided hex head screws for securing the legs. I also marked the cross piece to quickly identify the spacing for various cardboard backer widths. The eight supplied clips for the cardboard backer is a thoughtful convenience, as are the four 11" ground stakes. I keep the brackets on the cross piece and Velcro strap the uprights and legs to the cross piece for easy storage and transport. I highly recommend this well designed target stand.

Perfect portable shooting targets
After reading reviews and looking for something to transport to shooting range I settled on this one. I'm glad that I did, I like that you can make them any size due to the 1x2 pieces of wood you cut. I used some hooks and rebar to hang my binking targets and then used the clips they came with for paper targets. Like how easy it was to put together and take down once the wood was cut. I'm very pleased with this purchase. There was a small breeze where I shoot, but there is plenty of debris to hold them down if it gets bad. This is so much better then the pvc I used before.

Excellent, simple and durable
I picked up three of these originally for doing drills and taking friends and family to the range. I stopped by Home Depot to pick up a bundle of 1"x2"x8' set the targets up at home. The build quality is very consistent and they hold up well to wind. Picking up a few more because its easy to stack these deep in my truck bed, but I would pick up some extra alligator clips because you go through them faster then you would think. The cardboard backings are reuseable and I staple new paper targets to them to extend the life of them. Pickup a rubber mallet for the stakes.

Attention: WOOD DOES NOT COME WITH PRODUCT!!
This product has one of the most blatant omissions I've ever seen. This product requires wood cut to size, and is needed on the legs, between the two braces and for attaching the target. WOOD DOES NOT COME WITH THE PRODUCT. You now have to go hunting for the proper size wood. Yes, the stands look easy to assemble......AFTER you go hunting for the proper size wood (1x2) AND cut it to size. THEN you can put the product together.Once it's all together, this might turn out to be a really good product. You just can't just open the box and put the thing together as the company implies. No matter how good this product turns out to be, I doubt I'll change my review score to a better one because of this glaring omission.
