Just started the plugs in wood log. No results yet.
The product came in a clean condition and was as advertised. The plugs were all uniform and easy to work with.

it's not a very visible mycelium sometimes be warned
so i've grown lion's mane quite a few times before by cloning store bought mushrooms onto agar, making my own fruiting blocks, etc. I have some successful experience as a hobbyist i guess. I took a risk with these and was overall not disappointed. they came in just a ziplock bag which makes me question the hygiene practices in general. but i detected no visible contamination or off smells.LIONS MANE IS HARD TO SEE SOMETIMES!!! the mycelium grows much more microscopically at first and fully colonized plugs may actually not look colonized at first glance. take a closer look at the ridges on the wooden dowel and you should see a faint white of the mycelium throughout. once you grow it more you will become familiar, but to the reviews saying their dowel's weren't inoculated, they might have been mistaken imo as lion's mane is hard to see before it starts forming sclerotium and fruiting bodies. they looked fully colonized to me and i proceeded with inoculating a large log. lions mane myc is very faint, and does not look similar to oyster mycelium or other common home grown mushrooms so just be warned. We shall see if i bear fruit but yea, for the price not mad about the purchase at all. but not impressed with the overall quality of shipment just because it just seemed like it was just tossed into a sandwich bag.

not professional quality
I knew right away when the card board box these came in rattled like a box of dry wood plugs it was. DO NOT BUY! inside the small box was a no joke off brand zip lock bag with a computer printed white label on it and.... a bunch of dry wood plugs with two small globs of what I assume to be the spore, but could well have passed for a biological expellant... From other brands the packing is in a lab grade plastic and the plugs are more of less evenly coated with plenty of spore mix extra, not what looks like to large boogers in a ziplock bag. I didnt even open it, NO WAY and I inoculating anything with this mystery tinker toy loogie bag.

Waiting on spring
I have followed directions and nothing is happening. I believe the cold weather is the problem. The kit came with 100 plugs. Maybe in spring they will go crazy. I will update

Mushrooms in a fallen Oak.
The media could not be loaded. Product was easy to use.Drill holes and insert dowels. It will be an experiment for me. Though there are fungi naturally occurring all over my property. Now, we'll wait for a year to see the results.

Keeps on Going!
During the summer, these mushrooms grew pretty slowly, but now that the cold weather is here, this mycelium is hopping! I harvest every few days. I can almost see them growing!

Easy and Fun
Easy to follow, thorough instructions. I can't wait to plant and harvest. The Chicken of the Woods is great so thought I'd try these. I've heard they taste like lobster.
