Easily the best for the price
These little speakers are MUCH better than I was expecting.I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to speakers, but for this task I just needed something to play back lectures and Youtube videos. Stuff that any cheap speaker could do.I was surprised to find that the sound quality is actually very good. They produce very unbiased sound that is clean and clear throughout a wide range. There is, unsurprisingly, very little bass. It can articulate bass perfectly well, but it won't produce deep thumping lows. You need a subwoofer for that. The volume is definitely loud enough. I have yet to crank them to full volume, there has been no need to. Even my 80 year old hearing impaired grandmother has no problem with them.In this price range, these little guys absolutely destroy their competition.

Cheap! ...And, well... cheap!
The more I play these, the less I like them. My old Nexus 10 tablet plays Spotify music with more clarity and balance; the only thing it's missing is any bass whatsoever. These speakers have a bit more bass- which is not to say, much bass at all mind you. But other than that, they lack clarity and what bass they do have is muddy. They sound "plasticky", if you know what I mean.If they weren't so cheap I'd send them back but I'm not looking for much fidelity here, and I don't have much to spend. Who knows? They may end up annoying me enough that I actually just might return them and spend a few bucks more. The bottom line: Some manufacturers are able to take a lousy audio situation... as in: tiny speakers, extremely low manufacturing budget, and low power... and make the best of it. Eg, my Nexus 10. I would expect a speaker with a 4 star rating to be able to do as well, but they just don't. These do not deserve 4 stars. There are two reasons to buy these: 1) the convenience of USB power and 2) CHEAP!UPDATE: I have removed the last sentence from my review... "Other than that, pass." I was able to improve the sound of these speakers with a bit of equalization. They need a boost in both the bass and the highs. In Windows 10, if you right-click on your sound settings in the lower right, then open Playback, look for your output device, click on Properties, under the "Enhancements" tab you can find "Equalizer" in the list. Put on a song, then choose something that sounds decent to you... I chose club. You can hit the button with the three dots and modify the equalizer to make it sound good to you. I boosted the 4k level even a little more, and it sounded better....This is almost enough to raise my rating to a "3", but I feel like I have to counterbalance all the high scores out there. These speakers are an "it's ok" at best. I'm still debating to return these, and spend another 10 bucks and just get something better. I'm still saving the box... my speaker saga is not over yet...

Let There Be Sound!
I've been through so many styles and sets of computer speakers, and have been needing/looking for replacements for a couple of years. finally got tired of wiggling wires, listening to shorts sparking, and having to put on my headset when I just wanted to hear something clearly and with no interruptions. I wanted small speakers, and I didn't want the big "third box" (for base? woofers? those things take up way too much space).finally saw these amazon speakers on sale and couldn't resist. they're "perfect." very small, they take up almost no room on my desk. not fabulous (and slightly tinny) for listening to music, but I can probably tweak my sound card settings for improvement...and I already have a really good boom box for music. for watching videos or listening to podcasts online, however, these speakers work wonderfully.it's so nice to be able to turn on speakers and have them immediately work as they should! I'd almost forgotten what that's like. not having to constantly put on then take off my headset for general stuff is a dream. although not the best for this, I do use them for listening to music at my computer, because it's better than having to mind the boom box when I'm working. for speech, they're perfect.you have to use both connectors (one for the sound card, and the usb for power). I'm using a usb port in a power strip so there's no drag on my computer. the wires are really long, and I was able to peel them apart to easily reach both the back of my computer (sound card) and the usb port. now I just need to keep the cats away from the wires.ten bucks and prime delivery to my door? priceless! life is good...

Best buy for me in 2017
I must say I was very pleasantly surprised with this package. VERY easy to connect and the sound quality is amazing from such a small $13.99 unit. Very good volume, much stronger than I expected. One caution: Make sure other external audio devices are disconnected, I was feeding my monitor with a HDMI cable and that of course includes audio. I disconnected the HDMI and used a VGA cable for Video and connected the speakers to usb and headphones out, re-booted the computer and everything worked.````````````````````````````````` I still have 1920 X 1080 HD video and 10 times better audio than from the monitor speakers. The sound is as good as a $75 sound bar in less space---STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

Cannot Be Beat for The Price - Very Little Bass
That 5 star review is related directly to cost. For $13 I expected very mediocre speakers with little to no depth. What I received was solid speakers that have a great range of sound. These are USB powered so do not expect bass, there is very little. But there is enough depth and range to the sound that they sound quite full. The cable is plenty long, the volume control knob is solid and clicks firmly when the speaker is powered off or on. I bought these to use at work for some quiet background music and for when I need to watch some type of video. The build quality is also solid. The cable is not flimsy whatsoever, and is plenty long. The 3.5mm jack and USB connection is built into one cable, but it can be split down the middle if you need to separate those two. These are $13 speakers that are worth at least $25.

Excellent, Serviceable Speakers
I used to have dual 1080 monitors with in-built speakers but have recently upgraded my setup to a 1440p monitor. As I use headphones for the majority of the time I wanted something serviceable that I could use to watch Youtube/Netflix/Prime Video without paying an arm and a leg. These headphones are great for basic listening, the quality at high volume is tinny and struggles but as a simple edition to a PC setup they have been fantastic. USB powered means low impact and their size means they can sit on the desk without looking too out of place. While they work for me and I'm certain they hold wide appeal, if you're planning to use them to blast music at loud volumes I would look for something a little bigger.

Superb value for money.
Usage case: to supplement a monitor without speakers for skype and general purpose audioPros:- They feel well built for the price- Sound is very good in my opinion- They get decently loud- Rather compact- Plug and playCons:- A lot of cables (3 in particular, you don't want to move this with you, there are better, more compact, wireless alternatives at similar prices if you want to use it with laptops or phones, Anker comes to mind as an example...)In general I am positively surprised with them and would definitely recommend them.

Long cables and subdued looks, plenty of volume.
"I love it" is an overstatement, but for £12 these are good enough, very loud (in the realm of USB powered) powered from a 20watt USB hub, and utterly unobtrusive on the workbench. GREEN LED not blue, and it's nice and dim too, this pleases me immensely, you can tell these speakers were designed by someone with a clear 'no blingy crap' goal. Sturdy plastic boxes and metal grill. Generous cable lengths. That said, those white logitechs sound better, look better, and are great for close up listening or a e s t h e t i c desktops, but have very, very short cables and exposed drivers.

No complaints, does what it says on the brown cardboard box.
I have just received these yesterday, and for the price I think that they are perfectky good speakers. So far I have experienced none of the issues that others have mentioned such as tinny sound or a buzzing noise, I would suspect the noise has more to do with their connections than the speakers?.If you are looking for absolutely stunning and amazing sounds to go with your new tv, then these will be too basic (the clue is in the name). I have watched Movies from my computer and find the sound great, I do not tend to watch the kind of films where there are lots of explosions and for some reason people want to "feel like they are really there" whilst the car explodes etc. For my purposes (listening to music, watching films) this is fine, I have a music system in thr living room for higher quality listening and viewing. These are PC speakers, not a surround sound system for your living room, As such they are perfectly good,

Basic is one way to describe these speakers
To be absolutely fair these are Basics speakers and are advertised as such so no moans about that from me.What I will say is that they are quite light and smaller than they appear in the pictures (however Amazon give dimensions so I should have checked more closely). It turns out that they were actually not as good as the speakers my daughter already had.I didn't check the sound quality as I sent them straight back so apologies for a review that is lacking somewhat. I just thought I'd report on the size and lack of quality but then again the size is given in the specifications and these are basics speaker.
