Excel 2013 for Dummies

This book more than delivered what I had hoped for. I am a novice at Excel, but I like the Dummies books, they lay things out in an orderly fashion and take you where you need to go in I believe, a chronoligical fashion, enabling you to understand what you're trying to accomplish.The DVD was also quite helpful, as you get to see visually what is happening on the screen. Really , it went deeper than I thought it would....therefore, those that are intermediate would also benefit from this DVD and the book, which is far above where I'm at in my journey to learn Excel. Kudos for this purchase at less than $20.

I recently got a new job that uses spread sheets for everything. I thought I would brush up on EXCEL so I bought this. Silly me, thinking that 2013 meant the latest copywrite date and not the 2013 version, so it was not helpful to me. At work, we are still using EXCEL 2007 and will probably never change to 2013 since they will have to buy 1 million licenses to switch. So if you have EXCEL 2013, then the "For Dummies" format will probably help you. P.S. - since I waited too long to return it, I put it on Ebay and still couldn't get rid of it.

Very good condition. Needed it to refresh my abilities since I retired 7 years ago and did not useExcel at all. Used it at work but had no need at home as treasurer for our small church I used Quicken.

No real advantage over learning Excel 2013 from simply dive in, experiment and the best teaching tool is always "necessity is the mother of invention". SO until you have a real NEED to do some excel work, this will sit on the shelf. I bought it in case my boss drops a bomb on me to get some pet project done, and he thinks I know excel like a ninja, but I really don't, but this is a good back-up. Went through all of it once, and found myself taking off into just messing around in Excel, learning it that way.

It is really helpful and I have learned a lot from the book. I will have to say though, that, it is not the easiest book to look things up in but once they are located they explain solutions to the problem I am having very easy. I don't know if the two are connected or related in any way, but the little laminated "cheat sheet" I also purchased from Amazon is really great. It is very easy to use and provides a quick way to look things up.

Was exactly what I needed to bring me up to date on a program I hadn't touched in some 20+ years...yes, Excel has been around that long! Perfect for refreshing my older brain and unlocking long unused knowledge needed for accomplishing current work needed. Great go-to resource book. If you use Excel just on occasion like me...this is a must for quick lookup to get you headed in the right direction when you get stuck. A must have reference book!

I am working with the excel 2013 for dummies and I strongly believe that this is the one for me. So I will be working with this product and I feel that it will help me reach the goal that I am trying to reach.

Like all "Dummies" books this does what it advertises, and just what it advertises. It provides a solid overview of Excel for those who want to become basic users.

Still working my way through the book while in front of a computer screen putting all the instructions to the test and I must say it is a well written, clear, easy to read and understand book with clear instructions. This helps makes my understanding, and exploring, of Excel less fearsome than I first thought. I also bought the Word 2013 book at the same time and will be giving it the same review. I would add that the delivery time on the books was amazing. Ordered at 10.15pm and delivered before midday the following day.. great service.

I was very conversant with Excel 2003, but purchasing a new computer I decided to upgrade to Excel 2013. This was so different and harder to use than the earlier version, that until I purchased and read excel for dummies 2013, I was wishing I had not upgraded to the later version. The free dvd enclosed was also very easy to use.

Great for all things Excel.

This book has so much stuff,but in an orderly fashion,easy to read and work through, which I am doing at the moment.A very good working book which now sits next to the pc. A very good buy indeed.

A little hard to follow for me as im very new to Excel, but CD helps make understanding and putting documents/charts together that little bit easier.
