JOYO JF-31 Noise Gate

Cuts the noise without cutting tone. Above 12 o'clock it starts clipping too much. I just keep it at noon and it works as advertised.

Works well, the mute could be a little smoother, less abrupt, but well worth the money.

Seems to work ok for my high gain channel on my EVH amp. I bought it because it was cheap. For the price I don't think it can be beat.

For a relatively inexpensive noise gate it serves it's purpose. I wish there were more options, but it's a simple solution.

does not close fast enough, no matter what. it's lacking a decay control. Im out of 40$ on something that doesn't even do the job right, and I love joyo pedals, I own the california sound and ultimate overdrive and love their sound. this is just terrible.

Does a great job at cleaning up unwanted noise for a third the price of the boss noise suppressor... I own three of them!

the 1st one I got had a bad switch but it was replaced right away.......it works well and does not suck any tone either

Good sound but the 9v battery doesn't fit inside. I have to use power adapter.

To me, the idea of buying a noise gate has traditionally been about as exciting as new tires, or a new battery for my car...*yawn*.And this is no exception.But my Deluxe Crunch was causing some buzzing/hum issues, especially if I kicked in my Ibanez auto-wah along with it.So I inserted this noise gate after those pedals (and my Ultimate Overdrive), and before my phaser and chorus and analog delay.All in front of my amp (Fender DeVille).I found the magic setting....3 o'clock...that cuts the noise, but still lets through my clean sound...although for extended clean playing, it's probably best to switch this pedal of, as it CAN cut the signal if you play too softly/nuanced. Any less than 3.o'clock would sometimes let some noise through.If you're using all heavy distorted sounds with no clean, a higher setting, say 4, would be all you'd need. No settings below 3 o'clock worked for me, but that's fine. I suspect that varies by set-up.At that setting, it does exactly what I need it to do...no more hum and buzz between songs. I tested it (with just my ears) over and over again, and I cannot sense ANY loss of "attack" on my first note when I start playing, or anything else that our mothers warned us about noise gates!I am very happy with this pedal, for under $40, well...now if I can figure out how to put one on my Hammond, I'll be all set.:-)

This thing killed my tone when I turned it on. Even with my mark bass amp, it neutered the growl and volume.The effect is all or none. The adjustment knob doesn't do a lot. Not very responsive. More like a volume knob than an effect knob.Cheaply made. The AC adapter slot doesn't even sit properly in the case.You get what you pay for. I am going to return this and maybe get an MXR Sound clamp.

I bought this to cover up the hum from a cheap delay pedal I got, and it does well when you place it between the amp and the delay pedal without degrading the tone and quality (that I've noticed). The problem is that I can't put the base plate back on because there's not enough room for the battery. I don't know. Maybe there are smaller 9V batteries out there, but this is an annoying inconvenience.

Works very well and is a good price. If you have to put a draw back to it, it's that it doesn't have a decay control (how fast it takes for the signal to cut out once the threshold has been reached). However, still works very well.

Doesnt reduce hum or feedback just cuts volume and kills tone. Dont buy it, waste of money
