Fantastic Customer Service
When I first ordered this item, I received on a Friday afternoon an empty, torn envelope with several stickers from the post office saying my order had been "received in damaged condition" and they were "sorry [my] article had been damaged during shipping", which was not particularly helpful. That had never happened to me, and I wasn't quite sure what to do about it. I figured I had better check with the Post Office and see what they had to say before mentioning it to the dealer - obviously, he hadn't put an empty, torn envelope into the mailbox. Then I thought I had better give the dealer a heads-up that there had been a problem and that I would write again when I had more information.I didn't get much help from the post office (surprise!), but there was an email in my box early Saturday afternoon from the dealer apologizing for the problem (which hadn't been his fault), explaining he had never experienced any problems with shipping or packaging before, and he would mail a new mp3 player immediately, first class mail, no additional charge to me. What more could I ask for? It arrived yesterday, in perfect condition. The mp3 player doesn't seem to include instructions, but I had no problem installing or loading it. I can't speak to video or picture quality or anything like that; I only put some podcasts to listen to while I walk my dogs, and I can attest they, at least, are very clear. I would imagine the other features perform equally well. I do wish that I could get a menu of all the shows installed, so I could pick and choose more easily - maybe I can and I just haven't figured out how to do it yet. In any case, I generally listen to the shows straight through, in order, and I can always just keep skipping ahead if I want something in particular. Not really a problem, not at this price.Basically, I wanted a larger capacity mp3 player as podcasts tend to be rather long, and am very happy with what I got, particularly when you factor in the extremely reasonable price and free shipping. The superior customer service and care were icing on the cake. Recommended, for sure.

Fails to perform as advertised. Is mis-advertised as an mp4 player...plays only amv files.
This item IS NOT an Mp4 player. It plays *.amv files which are a Chinese proprietary video protocol. Should you wish to play Mp4 files or any other type of video file, you must download a convertor( if you can find one ) and render your video into *.amv format. This item does play mp3 files, however, it has no random play' feature. The instructions that accompanies this item are very minimal. They at best, yield an idea of how to navigate thru the menu's on the unit. The unit itself is unresponsive to navigation and doesn't seem to follow the same navigation command twice. I purchased this item in the hope that I could view my video files of various guitarists as a 'play along' reminder of songs that I am practicing. I find that this unit is useless for this. Should you want to listen only to music...as it has no 'random play' feature, it is useless for listening to *.mp3 music. I can not recommend buying something that doesn't get the job done.Since I wrote this, I found that *.amv files protocol has been 'hacked'. This occurred just a few months ago by some Norwegian programmers. The protocol is included in a 'free' en-coder/de-coder called Super. However, at this time the audio is only in single channel (no stereo ). I had to build my own 'truth table' in order to navigate thru the menus on this piece of Chinese junk. This is still a work in progress. Finally, I have charged the battery of this item for more than 16 hours. It only shows a 25% charge. Again, I can not recommend this item to anyone for ANY reasonable use.

For the Price: 4 Stars
I bought this because I was looking for an inexpensive "back-up" MP3 player I could just leave at work. When I saw this product being sold at this price- I was naturally skeptical. But then I became curious... does the thing even work? It really has all those features? For THAT price? What's the catch? I had to know- so I ordered it.I can tell you this: It really does work and it really does have all those features for that incredibly low price. Here's the catch: The menu navigation/interface is horrible. There are really no instructions aside from a 1/2 page sheet with some pictures so it was a matter of trial and error to figure out how to get around and play the song/album I wanted to play. You'll need to forget everything you've learned about navigating menus... but if you have the patience, this thing becomes well worth the price. If you do order it, there are some tips below for navigating.Shipping didn't take anywhere near as long as it said it would take when I ordered. I think it came within 2 weeks. Aside from the horrible navigation, another annoying issue is that it cuts off the first second or so of every song that begins immediately at 0:00 and I haven't been able to figure out if there's a way to fix that. But it does work. It comes with headphones which I haven't tried out, and a usb/charging cable which also works for my iPod. I haven't tried playing videos on it yet, but the screen resolution doesn't look too promising in that regard. I rated this product 4 stars based on what I would expect from an mp3 player at this price. If this was priced in the same range as a 16Gb iPod- I would give it 1 star and send it back. But I'm happy with it for the price.NAVIGATION TIPSMENU: The "menu" button is not a menu button. It's a "select" button that MAY also serve to call up a menu if you're not already in one... But it is first and foremost a SELECT button. Think of it as the round button in the center. Once you've highlighted the option you want (i.e. the song you want to hear)- you press MENU to select that option.|<< and >>|: The forward and back buttons basically function as you would expect once the music is playing. The "forward" button will skip to the next song, the back button will skip back to the start of the current song, then skip to the previous song, etc. However, when navigating menus- these are your UP and DOWN buttons.|<< = UP >>| = DOWN.PLAY/PAUSE: The play/pause button at the bottom of the circle of confusion again functions as you would expect once the music is playing. Hit it to pause a song- and again to play. But when navigating menus, this is like your "back" button. This will be particularly helpful to know when you are looking for a specific album, for example.HOW TO PLAY A SPECIFIC SONG (from off). Switch player on. You will be in the main menu with the first option "Music" highlighted. Hit MENU to select "music". It will now bring you to the MP3 player screen with the last selection you listened to still loaded up to play and you could just hit play to listen to that song. But we want to hear something else, so: Hit MENU again to call up the music MENU. The first option, "Local Folder", is the one we want, so hit MENU to select it.(At this point, navigation depends on how you imported your files. Local folder is basically where you go to find all files. It is not arranged alphabetically. It is arranged in the order the files were imported- so it's a good idea to just import your entire music library folder at once to keep things organized by artist, album, etc... or create an organized folder on your pc, and import that. If you import a song here, and an album there, they appear in that order in the list of files and it gets very hard to find things.)But assuming your files are organized in folders, you will then need to hit the play/pause button to back up a level or two. You'll see what I mean. Use left and right to go up and down, menu to select... and you'll get there eventually.CENTER BUTTON: Calls up a volume control slider.
