They cheeped out on the wiring . They used uncoated copper wire in the foot control. I coated all wiring connections under may foot control, with liquid wiring tape. Note: If you live anywhere near the coast, they will void your warranty , claiming you used it in saltwater.

Great value - solid product
This trolling motor replaced a Motorguide trolling motor similarly priced. The Minn Kota is much better and was easier to install

Strong and quite, on 18 ft fiberglass bass boat, in calm water speed 1 will move you gently around. In choppy water with 10 to 15 mph wind speed 5 will get you there in a hurry. Very pleased with motor so far.
