I love this book. I love Pete's style of writing - raw, real and relevant. It's a fantastic overview of why and how to pray. Love the stories and simple applications. I read it all the way through once and am now going back through slowly again to put it all into practice as part of my daily learning and devotions. He unpacks the Lord's prayer and gives a simple acronym P.R.A.Y to remember to a simple prayer rhythm. I also love the "keep it simple, keep it real and keep it up" advice! Want to learn how to pray? This is the book for you!

This is a wonderful book - so clear, so well written, so down-to-earth and practical. Yet still full of fresh insights and wisdom - I can't recommend it highly enough. I have not quite finished reading it but plan to start over again as soon as I have completed it, which is not like me.

I have been reading Christian books for fifty years, but this one revolutionised my prayer life before I had even finished reading it. This guy combines great writing ability with extensive historical knowledge (which he mines for illustrative anecdotes) and broad spiritual experience. Masterful.

Prayer is the only superpower we humans have . As our superpower is God's only weakness it is a priceless gift to have on this journey home.Prayer is our source of everything in joys and sufferings, the key to God's Heart.This book is a helpful manual on how to talk to God and what to expect. Learn it. It might take a lifetime but this book could be a starting point.There are many books on prayer out there, St. Alphonsus Ligouri " How to converse with God " amongst my favourites but if you like XXI century's approach on this very important, life giving topic this book could be your game changer.-----For Catholic readers . This book does not have the imprimatur but it is as Christian as it can get. Use it wisely and it will enrich your soul.

Simple yet profound. Full of so many practical insights. Pete has opened up the privilege of prayer in such an accessible way. This should be compulsory reading!

In this book Pete takes a step by step look at prayer. He makes no assumptions and takes us literally step by step towards either creating or recreating a new, vibrant prayer life. Gently he unfolds the subject and answers questions that you’ve always wanted to ask. Using lots of illustrations and encouraging us to get going Pete gives us the tools and provides a frame work that I can only see as the one of the most life changing experience we will ever have.

I love Pete's books. This is no exception. Really biblically based and a great help to us trying to walk down the narrow road that leads to the narrow gate.
