Loved It!
4.5 STARSI just love a good new adult, college, sports romance. They make me feel so giddy and smile like a loon. I think Maya Hughes has earned a spot with Sara Ney and Ilsa Madden Mills as one of my favs. The Perfect First blew me away.We have a virgin heroine that has been rather sheltered most of her life. She decides to take the bull by the horn and start experiencing life. She starts looking for a helper in an unusual way. Luck has it that the hero is in the right place at the right time. It’s the perfect meet cute. The hero is a star player on the football team that is gunning for the national championship. He isn’t looking for anything to make him lose his focus. This book was so much fun to read. It’s made me feel the full range of emotions. It was the perfect read for me to enjoy. It reminded me why I love reading.

The Perfect First
This book started out really slow for me. I got that Seph was supposed to be super smart and socially awkward, but I just couldn't get past her total lack of common sense. I found it very annoying. I took a break from the book and when I started reading again and got to about 40-50% it started to pick up and redeem itself. After that, I really did enjoy it. Hence, the 3 stars. Reece and his teammates were great. I hope some of them get their own stories. Not one of my favorite books, but a cute read.

Reece and Seph's Story is The Perfect First
Reece and Persephone aka Seph what an adorable couple. Reece called hisself being a guide for her to help her do all the things on her list, because she was a young women who would finish college this year even though she is only 18. We find out that Seph came from a loveless home. The only thing important to her father, who ran the household was academics. Reece was a genius and could do math just as well as she could play her violin. She never had a childhood because she was home schooled by her parents without the pleasure of at least other children who were home schooled too.Reece is such a good guy. The fact that he meets a complete stranger and wants to save her from herself.... Their adventures together are hilarious and romantic! This is a lot of firsts for Seph, and a lot of re-do's for Reece, but with the way she reacts to each of them, it's like seeing it for the first time all over again, and it puts a whole new spin on their relationship. And that's something considering that Reece is a football star at their Fulton University school and Seph, is almost a total nerd girl, on the fast track to her PhD. Total and opposites. Seph is the girl who does everything to please her father, yet not really doing anything for herself. Seeking some help to finish one thing on her bucket list she meets Reece, by accident. After meeting this gorgeous man she will never be the same. This was a good book from beginning to end. It made me laugh, cry and made me angry and sad but all in all I loved that it made me so emotional.

The Perfect Book!
🎻Virgin Heroine🎻Friends-to-Lovers🎻Sports Romance."I’d give her the other firsts, as many as I could, because if I gave her too much, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from never wanting to stop.".Review: This was a re-read for me. I forgot just how much I loved this book! It was my first book by Maya and I was hooked. I wanted more and couldn't stop reading!.Persephone is 18 and finishing her final year of college, therefore she does not have much in the way of social skills. Expected to excel in everything she does, her father wants her to transfer to Harvard, where she knows she will be under his control once again..Reece is finishing his senior year at Fulton University and then plans to make the draft and go on to a Professional Football career..Reece meets Seph when he accidentally sits down at the wrong table. He finds that Seph is interviewing candidates to take her virginity. Completely in shock by the questions she asks him and realizing how naïve she is, he takes it upon himself to protect her and talk her out of her insane idea. He learns she has a list of things she wants to do, and only has months to do them. Reece decides he will help her with her list, all but the first one, which is Lose her V-card. As the two begin Seph's list of firsts, she grows, including learning to stand up for herself. He will be leaving for his pro football career soon, so nothing can ever happen between them. Right? These two stole my heart. Seph is so innocent and has lived such a sheltered life. Reece is such a great guy and when feelings start to come, he fights them, afraid of hurting her. He just melts your heart. We also meet the other guys in the house Nix, Berk and LJ which I adored.

A Perfect First For Me
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book after reading the reviews but I really enjoyed this story, both Seph and Reece were fab main characters. And this to me was a quintessential college coming of age story and also a first from this author for me. I will be reading more from her that’s for sure.Seph was a socially awkward college student with no friends and feeling like life was passing her by she decides that she is going to change that and sets out to make all of the things she feels she is going to miss out on when she returns to the life her father has planned for her. Deciding that she will hold interviews for the person she loses her virginity too she puts out an advert but when the perfect candidate is sat there in error she knows that she wants to experience more with him can she convince him to help her live for the first time in her life or will she be returning to a life of solitary and following her father’s rules and expectations.Reece is a football legend on and off the field at Fulton U after the previous year of scandal he is ready to have some fun and become the NFL star that he was born to become. There is no way that love is on the cards for him especially after the last gold digger but once he meets Seph accidentally he cannot get her out of his mind and soon she’s embedded in his every thought. How did this happen and now that it has could there be a way that he can follow his dreams and have the career he always wanted? Not saying too much but there is a lot more going on in this story and both have things that they need to work through together. Wonderful story that I know I will read again in the future and I am very happy that this is the only start to what looks to be a funny and sweet series.

A maths genius and a football star
The Perfect First is a new adult college sports romance. Persephone (Seph) Alexander is a maths genius, but she has spent her life being home-schooled and has no friends and is socially inept. She has escaped from her father’s strict rules while at Fulton University, and during this time she plans to complete a dream list of ‘firsts’.Reece Michaels is a football star, full of self-confidence, but his attitude won’t impress the talent scouts, so his coach books him lessons which will improve his off-field image. In a classic mistaken identity moment, Reece meets Seph just as she is interviewing for her first sexual partner. Reece cannot believe the danger that Seph is placing herself in, so he promises to be her friend and help her with her other list items, but not the sex.The author takes a studious introvert and gives her a bold streak mixing this with a confident male and tests his loyalties. I thought it worked well. The romance was fresh and teasing while the characters and minor story threads had plenty of depth and enough attraction to keep me interested and absorbed in the tale.

Perfect ending!
Wow! This book was recommended by another author I enjoy and not did I agree that it was a fabulous read! Persephone places an ad to lose her virginity and Reece accidentally sits with her thinking she's his publicity coach. What starts as friendship becomes something blindingly perfect. Laughs, tears and so much more accompanies you on the journey with Reece and Seph!

I loved this book!
~4,5 stars~This audiobook is another proof that a good narration can make a really good book even better. I loved and enjoyed The Perfect First when I first read it but I enjoyed it even more when I was listening to this amazing narration. This is one of those narrations that I will definitely listen to again and again.I loved to see Persephone blossom and learn to live life the way she wants to live it. To see her claim her life and fall in love with Reece, one "first" after the other. And Reece, well, I think he wasn't really prepared for someone like Seph but who could resist such a charming introduction? This was a story that drew me in right from the start. The characters are wonderful, they are very authentic and likable and the whole story was very warm and sweet. I also loved the secondary characters a lot who were also well developed and authentic. Some of them we will meet again in the next books of this series that I have also read and really enjoyed. Interesting stories with a unique twist and a lot of charm and humor. I can't wait to listen to the next books in audio as well!
