This is the best nature writing book I have ever used for my university level Nature Writing course. My students love the selections. I can see their appreciation not only for nature but for vocabulary and style grow during the semester. They refer to the text often in their oral presentations and essays. It is most gratifying to have students read because they cannot put the book down. They also are going for the original texts so they can read more of the authors.Good job, Norton.

Got this book for my English 101 class, hard to understand but at least I got the book.

I am happy with the purchase of this used book.I can't imagine what it would cost new, when I know it would be unnafordable. This book is an anthology of many writings. It is a treasure.Thank you for helping me attain texts for my course. I may not pass it on.

Well, it was a shame to discover that this book is the same as the other Norton Nature Writing book. Only the college edition is $10 more expensive and absolutely the same. Tsk! Tsk. I have accidentally ordered the same book twice and been charged more for one than the other. How does that work. Concerning the work. I am considering ordering it for a college text--the cheaper version.

I had to purchase this book because of the pricier ones in the bookstore at the college I attend. Great price, good content, highlights in a few areas, but those actually helped me out. A few things highlighted were addressed in class so I'm sure anything in there marked is worth paying attention to.

This was a required text for an environmental writing course that I took. However, once we started reading from it I decided to rent and not buy. It is full of fantastic pieces of literary work.

I needed this book right away for a college class. I could have purchased it through the college bookstore, but would have paid about $20 more for it. It arrived very quickly, so I saved the money and a trip to the bookstore. It is a wonderful book on nature writing. If you haven't read anything by Thoreau, Muir, Carson etc. this is a good start.

An excellent selection of nature writing. Mostly nonfiction.
