if you like Simon's Cat you'll enjoy this book. some of these "comics" are the ones they later animated. cute, silly and fun! I saw someone complained about the pages being too thin and transparent but I don't see any problem. the paper is a little thin and cheap but it's not an issue. very enjoyable!!👍

For anyone who has ever been owned by a cat
I have long been a fan of Simon's Cat. A dozen years ago a friend send me an animated clip of Simon's Cat going through his antics of telling his human to get up and feed him. It was simply hilarious. Simon Tofield has had to be surrounded by cats his entire life in order for him to know cats so well and to be able to apply that knowledge to paper and animation. Of course, the animated little fiend is so much more expressive that the one on paper but none the less funny.I follow him on YouTube and if ever I'm in a blue funk, Simon's Cat can always make me smile and laugh out loud. This book is good but it makes me want to see and hear that little fella. I can see him in my two cats and only wish I had the creative talent to relay their personalities in print or animation. Kudos to Simon Tofield and his staff.

Hilarious!
After watching the series on YouTube and playing the IOS games, I had to read the books and they are every bit as hilarious as the others. There is something so endearing about this cat and pals it will keep you coming back for more adventures. The very nature/personality of a cat has been captured completely. So real and so very funny! Enjoy!

get this book!
If you are a fan of Simon's wonderful YouTube channel, or a lover of cats and their antics, or if you like funny comic books. Everyone knows that there are gazillions of cats on line--cartoon videos, real life videos, and, of course, LOLcats. With all these cats, do we really need a cartoon book, esp. one who already has millions of internet fans? After reading and re-reading Simon's book, I say an emphatic YES! This format draws the reader into a different world than that of video, and it conveys a different layer of enjoyment--one in which the reader "participates" in the action because s/he must imagine and interpret what goes on "between the frames" in order to achieve "closure" which we need for understanding. (I've been reading a bunch of graphic novels lately, and I also read and recommend Scott McCloud's excellent book, "Understanding Comics") I'm a big fan of LOLcats, too, but the books derived from these, like many books based on websites don't really have anything new or interesting to say, and are often a disappointment. Simon's Cat, in his very own book, helps the reader to identify with both him as well as Simon in his life as a cat, and with Simon as the human whom he owns, FTW.(Unfortunately, real life calls me away, so check back later; I'll write more later. I hope that this paragraph adds to the discussion about the book, and why I like and recommend it. BFN.)

A cute book
I've always loved the "Simon's Cat" videos on YouTube, so when I found out that Simon had published a book, buying it was a no-brainer. I enjoyed the book, although I think a lot of the humor from the videos didn't translate well to print. I think that the reason for that has to do with the humor from the videos being based much more on "real life". Even when the cat does things that aren't possible for a real cat to do (wield a baseball bat, point at his mouth), it's still cat-like, because you know that if a real cat could, he would -- they were anthropomorphic versions of real cat behavior. Besides which, those sorts of things were a minimum in the videos -- most of the time, the cat was doing things like meowing to get his owner's attention, rubbing up against his owner, crouching to spring at a fly (while making that hunting "chittering" noise cats make) -- in other words, real cat behavior.I'd say probably 3/4 of the book is non-cat behavior. Nor is it anthropomorphic versions of real cat behavior -- the cat does everything from befriend a garden gnome to tease a hedgehog by sticking leaves on its spines.Still, even despite that, I'd still give the book four out of five stars. Even if something was lost in "translation", it still was an amusing book, and worth a read or two. The borderless cartoons and lack of captions (or any sort of text) let it flow in a way I found attractive and refreshing. And even if Simon's cat's shenanigans weren't cat-like, they were at least still funny.

Simon's Cat perfectly captures every cat's persona.
I first saw one of the videos on Youtube and became instantly hooked. It shows all of the funny little things that cats do all the time. He perfectly captures them and makes them into these cartoons. They are very funny and down to Earth. Every cat owner sees these cartoons and relates to the situations. If you have ever owned a cat, you need to watch the videos and should buy this book. I have recommended it to all of my family and friends and highly recommend it to you. I cannot wait for the next one. I will definitely buy it.

Simon's Cat
This is a truly wonderful book. Simon Tofield has a considerable understanding of cats and their behavior and Cat is charming and clever and funny. An example: in a two page spread Simon has carefully constructed an elaborate kitty tree/condo which he presents to Cat. On the second page Cat has dived into a nearby box of packing peanuts instead and is happily playing in them rather than on the kitty tree. Gnome makes an appearance as well as a hapless Dog that I think belongs to Simon's Sister. Don't forget to check out the Simon's Cat website: [...] where you can see the newest video and enter the photo competition.

Cute
This is a cute collection of cat illustrations that really feels like an animal version of "Dennis, the Menace", without the dialogues. However, the basic theme of the cartoons gets a little repetitive & is not as amusing as you turn more pages. It'll make for a great gift for kids or people who love cats. Got the ebook for free on my Kindle Unlimited subscription, or I wouldn't really have picked it up.
