Awesome book to help a little one understand their nerves about school
This truley helped my daughter with understanding all her nerves about Kindergarten. She wouldnt want to go everyday and complained she had a belly ache. I finally got this book and she understood why/when butterflies in your tummy happen and that everyone gets them. VERY well written !! LOVE IT

Great Story - See Video
The media could not be loaded. We love a book that has a true storyline and this one is perfect. Addresses first day jitters, leaving a sibling at home and puts a positive twist on them. Works well for any grade level, but we are looking forward to reading in anticipation of starting kindergarten and leaving a sister at home. Also has bright, colorful illustrations! The corner of ours was a little damaged but that didn’t impact reading.

A must have for the First Day of School or an big event
Butterflies on the First Day of School just arrived and is a crowd pleaser. I read this aloud to my daughters and their friend, who happens to be very quiet and timid. She was smiling along with my girls, and I have the sense that she really understood little Rosie. Annie Silvestro’s books, all of them, are beautiful, fun, sweet and witty all at once - no easy feat! Her mastery of language and ability to make her characters come to life are remarkable. For any child who is anxious about the first day of school or anything else, this is your book! I just love the last page when the mother’s true feelings are expressed. We’ve all been there!

Nice idea for the last page.
The book is nicely done. It's got somethings that are creative and nice for a book collector. I like the idea that the author is trying to get across.

What an awesome book for start of school year.
Ordered for great niece who was having anxiety about her first school bus ride to kindergarten. She absolutely loved this book. Beautifully written and illustrated. The use of butterfly was so delightful and a positive way to turn a uneasy situation to a possibility of positive outcome. Now butterflies in stomach for any new experience gives a her a nice reference to look forward to trying different things..oh by the way she loved her bus ride and first day of school.

Lovely low key story!
Lovely non-complicated story that reframes typical anxiety in a positive, reassuring, and delightful way. Great illustrations, not too many distracting words. Perfect! My granddaughter loved it, saying “It’s like I am in the book”!
