American DJ BLACK-24BLB 24" Black Light Fixture with bulb

Item works fine, has 3ft cord, does not have name of product printed on it just has a small sticker with model number, and was packaged well. I believe they have changed the thickness of material, cord length and the print on it to make it less cost. Older ones have thicker material 6ft cord and label printed on it. All the bulbs of the 3 new ones i bought have something inside of them that rattles around but works fine.

Finally! I've been searching for a while to find a black light that's truly 365nm and this one is! I have some manganese glass pieces that will only glow under 365nm and this one makes them glow! So happy with this purchase. In my picture, the manganese pieces are the lighter glowing pieces on the top right. Perfect!

This is by far the best over-all black light. LEDs are trash. I tried the normal lamp light bulb black light cfl from sunlite, and they put out more visible light than this product, but would be my second choice. I also tried a 17w Walmart 24” tube that is very close to this and cost 4X less, but puts out too much visible purple light, and doesn’t put out much.This cfl has the best wavelength and spectrum for eye popping colors while remaining dark.

First let me comment about the way this was packaged. The retail packaging was packed great great, lots of styrofoam supporting the item and the glass tube. The packaging from Amazon was another story. Although the outer ship box was correct in size it was packed with that crappy butcher paper that Amazon has started to use. Totally unacceptable way to ship such a fragile item. Just a note, i ordered an item at the same time that was not at all fragile, and it came in a heavy duty box swimming in bubble wrap, also shipped by Amazon! Really?When you first get it out of the box you will have to remove the foam covering the tube. People have tried to remove the covering by cutting it for fear of damaging the tube by removing it. You have a really good chance of damaging it if you DON'T remove it. Relax, it's easy. Just place you thumbs and forefingers on the meatal ends of the tube (not the glass) and twist towards you until it releases 9you'll feel it). Then just pull straight out. See, no big deal! Remove the foam, and replace by doing just the opposite. Easy Peasy!Now for the review. The light itself is of very good quality, much better than i expected for the price. The Bulb itself was of super high quality, not a complaint! Some people have complained about the electrical cord being very short, and it is. It's just under 4 feet, but that is not unusual for these type of fixtures. The unit has holes so that it can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It also does not buzz like other lights of it's type, almost silent (very nice). The on/off switch is a very solid rocker.This unit gives out a true black light that is somewhat subdued. Many people think that a black light is supposed to be really bright in order to do it's job. Nonsense, bright lights that claim to be black lighs are nothing more than reqular lights with a color coating that turns the room a color. True black lights will glow a room with little actual "brightness". That is what this light does. This light will give an awesome glow to anything flourescent.If you need a replacement bulb you can get one at [...] for $9.99. It's the cheapest that i have found.

Good black light. I hope they don't stop making these anytime soon because LED black lights give off too much visible light making it seem like it does not glow as much. Fluorescent black lights give off the true black light effect. Fluorescent black lights are becoming harder to find these days.

So it comes with a safety note saying this is group 3 UV light. Why there’s not a single mention of that in the product description? This is NOT a safe decorative lamp to glow things up. What the actual f. I wanted old school black light and this sure looks like one. I got the 48 inch and I don't think the 48 inch is worth it. I used to have one half the size that really emitted black light and covered the whole room. When I plug in this 48 inch one in a smaller room than the one I used to use half the size, it doesn't cover the whole room. I was fine with jiggling bulb until it works or snaps back into position but the fact that this is a 48 inch old school black light should cover my whole room which is fairly small. It may be better if you get two small ones or three small ones to cover a small room and distribute around room instead of having one big one in one place. This black light illuminated stuff within 3 feet, anything beyond that was not illuminated. I did research and still had decided on this one, as I found out the old school black lights true emitters of blue light or black light are t8 bulbs. But aside from product the shipping was great, it is well packaged to not break during shipping which I was worried about. Amazon has done a great job wrapping this and shipping this. It had like foam wrapped around the bulb, they way it was packed is great..

Stop wasting your money on LED or any other spectrum of blacklight products. This is by far the best blacklight on the market period. most fluorescence is strongest in the 320-380 nm range, with a peak at 365 nm. Therefore, typically it’s recommended a wavelength of 365 nm for most blacklight applications where maximum fluorescence is desired. This is one of very few lights I can find on the internet which truly resides around the 365nm spectrum. 100% the best light on the market to do what it is designed to do. This is the only review you need to read. Thank me later.
