I am a fan of Sir Ridley Scott movies(except for alien) .I think he Potrays Story in a compelling and in a unique Visual style and culture of the people.Black Hawk down shows the true life event in the battle of Mogadishu were the USA forces Have to caputure a somalian warlord.The movie shows the Poverty and Famine of the civil war.The warlords kill innocent people and have become savages.The USA forces intervene with there Operation. The movies shows the loss of lifes of soldier comrades and war and survival.The "black hawk down" helicopters are very stunning helicopters in the movie and when one of them is shot down the comrades have to protect there fallen men.Black Hawk down has some very good Cinematrography and shot taken led by Ridley scott. The formation of the helicopters over the somalian beaches and towns and cities is amazing.some will even remember similarity to scotts latest movie "Body of lies". In Black hawk down the colour grading is very strong as you see more of green and blue/yellow cast. This is to give the mood for the movie..This movie is worthy of buying in HD.The bluray was purchased with a decent price in amazon India..however I feel the Film could have had a better transfer...but then again this was not bad but slightly grainy..There is lot of good actors in this movie Ericbana,josh,orlando bloom and others.The Music by Hans Zimmer is perfect for the atmosphere in this movie along with some other artists....BLACK Hawk Down is a must For Ridley scot fans and War moviesCInematrography-10/10Music-10/10Actors/cast-10/10Behind the scenes-10/10

Amazon delivered fast within 2 days.The movie is a classic based on true events. It is a treat to watch a non-hyped urban warfare movie from the Hollywood. The cinematography, the action sequences, the music and the pace of the entire few days of drama for survival in a alien landscape is amazing... and it's even better when in high definition. The quality of video transfer and the digital soundtrack with bullets whizzing around is quite nice. It gets 5 stars for the storyline, content and quality of production. A must have in your BD collection.

4:3 print. Bad picture quality. I doubt it is a copy and not original since region settings did not allow India either. Amazon should mention aspect ratio and year of release under product details just like their US counterparts.

I loved the movie.. CD was alright..

Ce film est sublime et me rappelle des souvenirs du visionnage au cinéma. Ici, 2 versions (cinéma et longue) sont disponibles. Les 2 se valent, avec une petite préférence pour la seconde version, plus longue que quelques précieuses minutes. L'image est de toute beauté et le son, absolument magistral. On est DANS le feu de l'action. Chaque spectateur devient soldat et on se surprend même à baisser la tête lorsqu'une balle siffle à côté de nous ou que les miliciens jaillissent sur notre flanc. Le Dolby Atmos (sur la VO) est bluffant. La scène de l'hélico à terre, avec le trio dans les ruines... est un modèle du genre. Par contre, c'est une édition belge, donc la jaquette est en double langue et la VF n'est pas une "vraie" VF. On a droit à un obscur doublage québécois, à la qualité plus qu'approximative malgré de beaux effets sonores. C'est ce gros point noir qui m'a empêché de mettre 5 étoiles à ce film culte.

Pretty intense war movie about an elite group of American Rangers and Delta Force soldiers that are sent to Somalia in 1993 on a mission to capture a warlord, but the mission goes terribly wrong, and the men find themselves outnumbered and fighting for their lives. With Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Eric Bana, William Fichtner, Ron Eldard, Ewen Bremmer and Sam Shepard. (2001, English and French languages, and English, French Chinese and Thai subtitles).

Techniquement, ce commentaire concerne uniquement l'édition blu-ray 4K UltraHD.2 versions disponibles: cinéma et longue.Film bien réalisé mais déception quant à la crédibilité du récit:Scènes d'action exceptionnelles mais blindées de clichés, mal interprétées et pas réalistes pour un sou!Quand ça mitraille de partout, c'est bien connu, on reste debout au milieu de la rue!C'est un film de guerre, pas un film de super-héros!Tactiquement zéro comparativement à d'autres films comme "13 heures" ou "Act of valour".Coté image: c'est exceptionnel avec ce léger grain ciné offrant beaucoup de réalisme mais parfois déroutant quant à la netteté de l'ensemble.Amateur d'images d'une perfection clinique, tenez-en compte 😜.Coté son: comment dire, préférez si possible la VO avec sous-titrage qui est proposée dans un Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 compatible Dolby TrueHD 7.1 en tous points saisissant : on est en plein cœur de l’action.Sur la version ciné, 2 VF sont proposées: la Parisienne et la Québecquoise et sur la version longue la VF est uniquement Quécquoise.Autre détail, Sony, SVP, arrêtez avec ce menu qui n'est pas interactif et fonctionne comme un DVD.On ne peut pas vouloir changer un paramètres ou un chapitre sans arrêter le film et revenir à l'écran principal.

Je viens de visionner la version longue en VF québécoise et quoique puissent en dire certains la qualité est au rendez-vous, bien que certaine scènes de transition demeurent non traduites, mais sont parfaitement compréhensible dans l'immersion formidable que permet ce Blu Ray 4K : c'est certain la bande son en Dolby Atmos américaine est un modèle du genre avec une puissance et une précision qui décoiffe. j'ai eu quelques frayeurs au début du film car je ne parvenais pas à supprimer les sous titres français sur ma platine Sony et j'ai finalement utilisé la touche dédiée de ma télécommande de ma platine de salon qui permet effectivement de supprimer les sous-sous titres. De mon point de vue ce film extraordinaire et pessimiste sur la guerre et l'engagement des Etats-Unis en Somalie en 1993 demeure un classique qui n('a aucunement vieillie : ayant connu professionnellement des engagements héliportés de combat je peux dire que le film est ultra réaliste et ma plongé dans une profonde empathie pour les soldats américains au point de fusionner avec des images personnelles. En 2019, finalement rien n'a changé les USA comme les puissances occidentales dont au premier lieu la France et le Royaume-Uni sont en conflit asymétriques contre des adversaires méprisables comme l'Etat islamique et Al Qeida qui font un mal terrible aux civils qu'ils réduisent en esclavage. Et ce combat des démocraties occidentales est une chose qui risque de demeurer pendant très longtemps, avec des pertes collatérales civils et des pertes militaires : sachant que la possibilité d'instaurer des démocraties par la force en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient est utopique. Ce film poignant au-delà de l'aspect spectaculaire est une réflexion sur le métier de soldat professionnel dans un monde en perte de repères moraux. Une chose est certaine, cette édition magnifique mérite vraiment d'être achetée.Le film a été vu sur une installation Home cinéma réaliste comportant un écran Samsung OLED de 40 pouces utilisé en mode cinéma et très efficace pour atténuer les effets de la lumière bleue, avec une platine Sony UBX-800 très efficace couplée à un ampli Denon haut de gamme relié à des enceintes françaises Focal SIB Dolby Atmos 2.0 qui méritent vraiment le détour et complétées par une enceinte centrale Bose : j'ai donc pu tester tous les formats et le Dolby Atmos en VO est vraiment somptueux et permet une immersion fusionnelle dans des images magnifiques, avec un piqué et une colorimétrie riche : c'est magnifique et le film méritait vraiment ce traitement.
