I paired these Pilot lamps with a pair of Hella bulbs ( and it turned out to be a pretty good combination
Installed on a 1995 Chevy C1500 work truck. The old sealed beams had already been replaced once (one was Wagner one was GE) and neither were bright. I paired these Pilot lamps with a pair of Hella bulbs ( HELLA HLA-H83140101 H4 12V 60/55W Halogen Bulb and it turned out to be a pretty good combination. I have only had them for two weeks, so I can't speak to longevity, but the combo seems like a solid purchase. I am also not sure if the plastic lenses will haze over time, but there are ways of getting rid of that.Installation was easy. Like another reviewer said, make sure you undo the screws for the retaining ring, not the adjustment screws. They fit well and mount solidly. One of the Pilot lenses had a small scratch on it, but doesn't seem to affect the light, so I won't knock off any stars. The lights look really good and make the front end of a 21 year old truck look a bit more modern.I think the light spread is fantastic. I can finally see at night - both far ahead and on the sides. I attached a pic at night. It was taken from a cell phone, so forgive the picture quality, but it shows how the light spreads. I haven't been flashed yet, so it doesn't seem like they are *too* bright or misaligned. If you have a vehicle with sealed beams, these really are a worthwhile upgrade. I can finally see what I need to see at night and the combination should last quite awhile. Plus, I can now just change bulbs instead of changing the entire assembly.

Awesome for the money!
I have a 1998 E-Superduty worktruck, and found out that conversions existed to upgrade the old sealed beam 6054 headlights to H4's.Pros-Using H4 Ultra's from Sylvania, this setup lights up the road much better than the Sylvania Premium 6054 sealed beam bulbs.Took less than an hour to remove the existing bulbs, and install these headlight fixturesMake the truck look a little more modernCons-You get what you pay for- the lights are 100%plastic, assume that the clear lenses will fog/yellow within a few yearsThe four mounting pads on the back are NOT flat/level. you have to grind away or add material to get them to sit flat against the mountsYou need longer screws to re-install the bezels/chrome frames that hold the light against the mounting pads, due to the thickness of the new light fixture the original screws do not reach. I had some stainless steel screws that worked fine.Light pattern is not as wide as the sealed beams. It may just take getting used to...When these lenses fog up, I will be looking into the Hella H4 conversion. I think the Hella's might be glass, and may have a wider beam.

Good product great price
1986 s10I thought about making a housing like this for a few years but didn't wanna mess with cutting the glass. I came across these and after the reviews I said why not and got a set. They set out just a hair further then the oems but who cares really. I'll post some pics as soon as I can to show what I'm talking about. A friend of mine owns a body shop and does alot of custom Stuff and even he'll tell you aftermarket never fits 110% if you notice it or not.Great looks over stock and let's you add silverstar ultras :) some people are talking about HIDs but I really wouldn't use this housing for that as the reflectiveArea isn't cone shaped "enough" for HIDs. For silverstars and ultras it's just fine. The pattern is pretty good as well. Side of the road is lit up prolly 40% more over stock. Sure some of this might be from the ultras I have in but I'm trying to give you the best ideas about this product if your on the fence as I was

Budget Lights: OK But Not Great
This are inexpensive headlight housings, and built accordingly. As most have noted here, there are made of lightweight plastic; not sure how the lens will hold up over time, but will see. I installed Econoled 2 pcs Car 6000K H4 Bi-Xenon HID Xenon Telescopic Lights Bulbs Lamps into the housing and noted:(1) the bulbs weren't held very securely in the housings (weak spring, small tabs on the mounting surface)(2) the low beam pattern wasn't great. High beam pattern looked much better. The housings installed into a 1997 Toyota Tacoma without modification, so that was good.Bottom line, this housing/bulb combination is sort of budget, but is still better than the OEM sealed beams.

Keep looking, not worth the time. No light available.
Poor reflector design and crappy chrome plating. Light pattern is scattered and dim even using good 60 watt bulbs. Not even as bright as a normal glass sealed beam halogen. The housing/lens assembly does not even fit properly in the headlight bucket because it is too thick on the seam between the reflector and the lens. The one good thing is that it was really cheap. I am not even going to waste my time and money sending it back. I definitely DO NOT recommend this product.I just ordered the Hella Replacement "E" code lamps which I have used before and I know to be a far superior product even though they are 3X the price. At least I will get my money's worth.

Excellent H4 Replacement. Plastic Lens/Housings
Ordered these housings for a retrofit. Quality. They're a plastic housing with a plastic lease. Ideal for an HID retrofit. Price is commensurate upon quality and market value. I've ordered more and will continue to do so. Several people have had difficulty in finding these however, it seems they've become more readily available as of late. Highly recommended for an H4 upgrade from sealed beam bulbs as these are less expensive vs glass housing counterparts such as Rampage or even Hella. Very easy to work with when doing retrofits.

Great housing for retrofits
I used these head light housings for a projector retrofit. These headlights were great because of their plastic lenses that are easy to removed compared to other headlights with glass lenses that can shatter easy if not removed carefully. More importantly the plastic lenses are a lot more optically clear then glass so the projector cutoff is way more crisp. The projector I used was the new Morimoto mini H1 7.0. The projector fit great after some cutting and the light output is great. My first set of headlights ordered had some scratches on the lens but amazon was great with shipping me out a new set fast! Overall this is a great housing for retrofitting!

240sx s13. Ill keep them around
Received the housings today. I have not hooked them up as they don't come with bulbs. They are kind of cheap plastic and I suspect they will melt using HID bulbs like I plan to. I immediately ordered the Hella H4 kit on here because they're glass and great quality, durable and (glass) so they won't melt for my application. Just a thought. I won't return because I will just keep them and maybe use them only sometimes. I do love the clear fronts as opposed to oem style.

Plastic
Wish I would have read the description better. Thought these were glass. They're plastic.

Exactly What I Needed
Needed these for a HID conversion, but could not find anything other than glass lenses. These came apart very easily after heating in the oven for about 10 minutes. Lenses are clear plastic without any distortions.

low beam pattern is V'd
these are decent headlight housings... i finally am able to run my LED headlights, but the low beam pattern on them is V'd. like, when i pull up to a building my light pattern makes a W on the building. its really annoying in parking lots, because i light up lifted truck's interiors, and my truck is lowered 8"... if i aim them down so that the edges of scatter are lower, the focal point is about 8ft from my truck, and no good for the road. straight forward, the light is fine, when im following someone, the light cutoff is about half way up their vehicle, so i dont light up their interior. high beam pattern is excellent though, throws the light straight forward!
