Earth from Space

I have been wanting to purchase this book since I was a broke college student. I work within the natural resources field and have kept this book in mind over the years and when I saw the price of this hardback I had to order it. I haven't gone through the entire book of high quality pictures but I was honestly only expecting it to have photos of human impact on the Earth BUT it also contains short excerpts from experts in different fields; there are descriptions and discussions on agriculture affects, climate change, and other topics in this book that add to the visual aspects of the book I was looking forward to seeing. It is a lifetime coffee table book that I have been excitedly showing off to any and everyone I can :)

I bought this book as a Christmas gift for a friend who is a talented amateur photographer. He was enthralled and when he put it down to get a drink, I grabbed it. It wasn't pretty after that.

Seemed to completely engross the recipient who is a geologist. I actually didn't get a chance to look inside--it came shrink-wrapped. Perfect condition. She seemed awed by this book, and that is not easy to accomplish.

Too many photos seem similar. Not enough detailed descriptions relating to significance of subject matter. Would say it was modestly interesting.

Fantastic work by the folks in Europe who created this. Stunning on all levels from the images to the choice of images to the words in support of understanding the images.

What a great book. Between the photos and their description you get a whole new appreciation for our planet. I love looking at it each and every time.

This book is a real treasure. It is a perfect coffee table book, delve in and out if you only have a few minutes to spare. The photos are awesome and I guarantee everyone whatever age will love it. It makes an ideal present for what ever age and is affordable.
