SALIN PLUSReplacement Salt Cartridge for Regular Salin Plus Air Filter and Purifier (Standard Sized Filter)

I have moderate asthma and allergies and the Salin Plus air filter and purifier really helps me to breathe better. I can tell the difference when I sleep with the purifier on versus off. When I turn it on before I sleep I can feel the difference in breathing in under a minute. I've been using the air purifier for a few years now and replace the cartridges once a year. I suppose you could replace it every 6 months if you don't have a regular air purifier in the room (I have a separate HEPA air purifier also). But once a year seems to work fine for the salt purifier cartridge change. I can still see some loose salt crystals in the filter when I replace them.

Stock of these has been spotty at best, so I recommend planning ahead if you see them in stock. They are quite pricey for a small cartridge of salt which is dirt cheap, but they are well made.

The mini-machine sits on the vanity very near my pillow. It does seem to reduce nighttime mucous production and cough—not dramatically, but noticeably. I don’t think it would be effective in any area other than a very small one. I would have given the product four stars, but it is VERY hard to find replacement filters. Also, the mini machine doesn’t have an off-on power switch, making it necessary to unplug it when not in use. This is a nuisance.

This was an opportunity for me to experiment...my desire is to have a salt cave(man made) for the therapeutic usage.The cost and developing my idea is several projects away so I wanted to see how this device worked. I could smell the salt in the air the first couple times I used it but haven’t used it much.I’ll plug it up in my bedroom soon and try it again.

My husband and I have had bronchitis and pneumonia this winter. Normally, lots of nighttime coughing would accompany such things, but since using the Saline Plus, we don't cough at night! We'd actually forgotten that it was even in our room, and then realized that it was subtly offering us the healing power of salt. Highly recommend.

Have not noticed a huge difference but been sick with a sinus infection. Would love to try the mini one. I might also need two for the house?

If this is just about the refill cartridge then the expense is my only complaint. It's salt in a plastic frame with some hepa-filter material.I'm going to sew together some "pillows" filled with kosher salt and rock salt that I can put on the HVAC vents.

What I love is it is easy and convenient. I realized how much salt therapy worked and my body loved it. I ordered the unit and was surprised at the value, even my breathing as I slept improved.
