If you are into recording and playback of reel to reel tape this is something that you can not live with out.
This splicing and editing block is great. Made from metal it should out last you, your children and grand children. This is a "must have" for anyone still using 1/4 inch reel to reel tape for recording and playback.

Tape splicing block practically useless
Probably bought the wrong product here. The splicing devices I remember from 40-50 years ago were great. You could slightly overlap two ends of a tape, cut them on the bias, apply tape and then trim the tape with a very slight scallop, all without removing the tape from the device. This does none of that, and in the end I did everything freehand.Not recommended.
