You want HOW MUCH for a boonie hat?!?Yeah, that's what I thought, too. After much debate, however, I took the plunge figuring, "Hey, if it's an overpriced turd then Amazon will take it back". Well, it arrived today and I'm pleased to report that it's Pretty Freakin' Awesome.The brim is well-stitched and filled with a thin closed-cell foam. The front of the brim has a fairly subtle rigid area that can be shaped like your favorite ball cap. It's barely noticeable from an observer's perspective, but it does a great job of keeping the brim from flopping around.The crown is a light-weight material that has a good hand (in other words, it feels nice). This material, combined with the two generous-sized vents on each side keep the air moving. There's a nice, subtle "Shelta" label on the left-hand side, chin strap adjustment straps on the left and right, and a nifty strap at the rear that you can use to tweak the fit.Moving to the interior, there's a nice sweatband and a mesh liner that covers the interior sides to the top of the crown. Nothing crazy, but a nice, quality touch that makes the hat a bit more comfortable. In the very top there's a generous pocket that seals with Velcro so you can stash, well... whatever you would want to stash in your hat, I suppose. They didn't skimp on the Velcro, either. It runs the full-width so you can be sure that whatever you put there will stay put.Getting the right size is perhaps the most confusing bit for many folks when ordering online. Now, obviously I only have one head, but WOW what a noggin it is! I wear a 7-5/8 long oval hat and the XXL fits like it was custom made for me. A very, very small cinch on the adjustment strap has it juuuust right. Again, the ability to tweak the fit is really, really nice.I bought the "desert camo" and I really like it. Note that it's really a "sandy greenish" color as opposed to the typical "beige and tan" affair. Personally, I think it's great, but folks should know what they're getting.Okay, so is it worth the money? Well, if it were $35-45 I'd have more than one. At the current price point, I doubt that I'll buy more than this one and, perhaps eventually, a backup. That said, if you're looking for the luxury car equivalent of a boonie hat, this is the way to go.

Great hat! Made to fit a round head. If your head is more oval in shape the stiff hat brim presses on your forehead which becomes uncomfortable after a while. I sure wish the company would make available a better fit for oval heads.

Great hat....no excellent hat. I have a very big head and the xxl is perfect.

First of all I would like to say the hat appears well made with quality material. Unfortunately I was surprised by the winged vision visor. This visor turns the entire front of the hat stiff like a ball cap. The way I use my hat is, I like to ball my hat up and stuff it in my pocket until I need to use it. Then pop it out and put it on. I guess I got used to doing this in the military. I plan on keeping the hat and seeing if I can get it to adapt to me or if I can adapt to it.

So you are probably saying to yourself, self, why would I spend $70 on a bucket hat? Because this isn’t your grandpa’s bucket hat. The brim technology alone makes it worth it. It is light weight and breathes nicely. I just discovered a hidden compartment for storing items in. You can secure the hat to your head in ways that would make any outdoors enthusiast love. I have gotten compliments on it from many different people. I wear 7/34-8 size hat usually and the XXL fits great. Not too tight or loose. Quit delaying and buy this hat now!

Fit is great and keeps the sun out of my eyes and off my face. I followed the size chart and added the recommended amount and it's a perfect fit. I keep the chin strap in the top inside pocket when not in use.

Fantastic hat. Have already ordered a second one. They have thought of everything. I can’t believe no has thought of this before.
