a needed ebook for the complexities of Lumix's internal software
Thorpe's book is a welcome and inexpensive addition for using the Lumix GM 1 cameras. I have a DMC-GM1KS. The GM software system is less complex than Sony's clunky NEX internal software but one needs Thorpe's gentle hand and helpful advice nonetheless. This ebook, stored on my Kindle, is accessed for those moments when the aging mind goes blank and you stare at the screen wondering "what does that mean?" He leads you through the GM menu's lingo patiently and professionally so you can maximize your photographer's eye with minimal distress. Thorpe also has YouTube videos which can be helpful as well.

Not much to say
except I have the Kindle version and it sure is easy to look up any detail about a setting or whatever. I would recommend the digital version over any other format. Would have been five stars but a few details are not covered.

EASY ACCESS WITH THE DIGITAL VERSION
Covers a wide variety of 4/3 cameras. Good information and easy access to the digital version.

Help you understand the settings of this little gem of a camera.

good book, but lots of errors - desc tiptions not matching photos, etc

The Panasonic manual is confusing...
and this simplifies the navigation, especially the custom menus which I simply could not comprehend, this book gets you off the ground so you get past the initial hurdle of the custom menus in the Panasonic manual, as these I want to use more effectively. I also the like the examples given, again, it gives you a baseline to start from so not going in cold. Recommended.

Some useful content, but a brief and partial explanation
Not so much a book as a pamphlet. This wouldn't matter so much if the work of simplifying the GM1 menu system was done halfway thoroughly. As it is, much is left half-explained. So, although there is certainly useful content, there is also a sense of frustration when the explanations offered are unduly brief or dismissive! I had hoped for more.

A very basic guide, little more use Han he manual supplied on CD. Some sections simply say "self explainitory" really?
