Chomp! Zoo: A Pull-tab Book

We originally got this book from the library – and my grandson adored it so much we had to buy it. He’s only 18 months, but always asks for Chomp Chomp” when he comes over. It’s one of his few words. He likes to pull on the sturdy tabs and loves to put his finger in the tigers mouth and get it chomped. Good purchase.

I borrowed this board book from the library to read with my 13 month old daughter. Big hit! So much so that I decided to buy it for her for Christmas.On each page, the animals are making different sounds, such as roaring or yawning, and you pull the tab to make the teeth move. My daughter loves to imitate the chomp and roar sounds. Within a couple times of reading it, she was able to figure out how to pull the tab to make the teeth move as well. We read it quite a few times each day before it got put on the shelf for a couple weeks. When I pulled it back out, she looked genuinely excited to see the book. She still remembered it quite well, and she enjoyed it at least as much being a month older.I am a big believer in borrowing children's books from the library. They are free! But some books are just meant to be purchased and kept forever, and this is one of them. It is also one I would never leave her alone with, because little hands have a good way of managing to peel board book pages or damage the pull tabs.

I read it to him once every couple of weeks (we have quite a book collection) and it's always a hit.The book material is quite sturdy and a little water-resistant, and the pull-tab has no issue withstanding a toddler's repeated pulling.

My son LOVES Chomp so I got this "sequel". It is ok, but he doesn't love the animals near as much... and it just isn't as fun. (But not bad by any means).

We bought this for our 15 month old nephew for Christmas. He hasn't received it yet, but our 10 month old got a huge kick out of it when we read it with her before wrapping it up. I love seeing how the same set of teeth can look different in different animals' mouths, making different expressions and noises. I think it's sort of like the teeth version of The Quiet Book. It also seems like it will hold up better than your typical pull tab book.

The book is short, only 5 or 6 spreads (facing pages), but this is the perfect length for the intended audience. My nephew loved this book, and the size and sturdiness of the mechanism meant it would most likely stand the test of time rather than a typical pop-up book whose illustrations are generally so delicate they can be easily destroyed not only by children but by adult hands as well.Beautiful, fun, and completely appropriate for a toddler (boy or girl).

My 9m old needed some quiet books to entertain her on the plane. She loves the teeth chomping action. Mesmerized her for 10min straight! Great book for your buck!

Really nice book and very hard wearing. My son loves pulling the tabs and as snap snap is one of his favorite phrases it went down a treat.

My son loves it. The book is durable and strong and the pull tab is easily workable by a child. He loves it when the animals bare their teeth, and I make the animal sounds along with i. He also likes to put in ice crispies between the teeth and snap the teeth, and watch the crispies fly! :)

Cute Book! Our little guy 1 1/2 loves this book and the other one Chomp! Great to keep a toddlers attention. Have read it so many times over.
