Once top-of-the-line military outwear has become an icon in the Propper M65 field coat. Classic features such as shoulder epaulets, packable hood, and built-in liner all reinforce the functional styling. The removable quilted liner provides an extra layer of warmth when needed. Perfectly suited as a field coat in the elements or around town.

Finally a field jacket in long sizes
Each of the m65 jackets on the market have variations in their respective product. I was a bit put off that this midel didnt have the brass zippers lime my original. But the nylon zipper glides smoithly. This model by propper comes in long sizes. The xl long i bought fits my sleeve length perfectly. I am 6.5. Vs otge models would leave the sleeves far short of my wrists if i extended my arms. The shape and fit are not so snug that it would limit movement. The hood hidden in the collar is of a thicker material. This jacket is of a nylon cotton blend vs the 100% cotton or poly blend others may be made of. I found it warm and durable while walking or working in the brush. I will put it to use in new hampshire hikes. A decent price for a rugged coat.

Picked this brand compared to other's on market
This brand is built with a lot of non milspec. ,snaps on storm flap and pockets not heavy milspec ,zipper is now black ykk plastic still a lot nicer than the brass on other manufacturer wich is made in the republic of no quality control and barely functional, and velcro sleeve extension is gone you'll miss those when you can't attach to your gloves to keep sleeves from going up your arm in those winter storms. So still kept the P manufacturer for the quality shell made with much better water resistance. The R brand shell did not stack up and that's the most important to me as I have used the M65 since the 70s for a wet and cold weather coat.

Quality
Best field jacket I have found. Great quality. Runs a little on the large side, I bought another one a size smaller and it fits a bit snugger but I also get the larger one for the very cold times in Michigan I may need to wear it over heavier clothing. The jacket with the liner is very warm on its own and meets most of my cold weather needs. Jacket is stylish enough to wear with or without liner out for the evening. Quickly becoming my go to jackets for most occasions

Top notch
Couldn’t be happier. So close to the original. If you’ve never had an original, you will not notice , Mine has the appropriate size liner, wearable by itself if needed.I’m 5’8, 200lbs and the large is the perfect size. It doesn’t feel bulky and there is just enough room to wear a .layer underneath if you want. Remove the liner, and you have even more room for a layer of your choice. Insulated vest maybe? …Stitching is tight against the pocket edges and looks professional ……. YKK zippers. …..you’ll want to put some paracord on them though.Again, a very nice jacket…….i don’t right too many 5 star reviews, this jacket deserves it ……

Pockets and buttons?
For it to be a true m65, it would need double pockets on the bottom, pen pockets, and an inside pocket, but it doesn't have those. Also, the liner doesn't have the buttons to wear it as a separate garment, which is much easier to fix than the missing pockets. I'm keeping it because I got it used like new at a SIGNIFICANT DISCOUNT, but if I had paid anything near full price, I'd have sent it back.

I love this jacket
The material seems to be very sturdy and well made. The nylon zipper is heavy duty. I've had better luck with the nylon zippers over the brass. It's just like the one I got from the BX decades ago.

Aside from cat hair…black jacket ordered
I’m was disappointed there was not a USA manufactured jacket available, however this one replicates my original jacket, which after 40 years just didn’t fit. Same pockets and same construction, albeit in black and Chinese. Am I the only one that finds this ironic?
