I recommend these pumps, but read my whole review.
Wow! Not only does this thing work, it is very powerful.I got this, to create some water movement, in my 40 breeder. I chose this size (the 317gph), based upon it being about 8x the volume of my tank. Based upon the research I did, you want to turn your tank's water 5-10 times per hour. I put it in the tank, turned it on, and it started blasting water. My plants were getting ripped out of the substrate (some of them, and they haven't had a lot of time to develop a good root system, yet), and my fish were fighting plenty of current. For a larger tank (maybe a 75 gallon), this might be the right sized pump. I actually ended up buying another pump, with half the gph rating, to use in my 40 breeder, and it creates just about the right amount of water movement, for my tank. Keep in mind, I have some fish who prefer medium-fast water movement (zebra/glo danios, harlequin rasboras, pictus catfish), and some who like medium-slow movement (rams, dwarf gourami).I would definitely recommend these pumps. It is nice that you can swivel the output, to point it where you need it, rather than just straight out from the wall. They have plenty of power. Just, make sure to take that into consideration, when choosing the size you want to buy.As with many other purchasers, I am confused as to what purpose the flexible plastic hose, which comes with it, is supposed to serve. At first, I assumed it was meant to move the intake or output, to somewhere other than where you stick the pump. It does not fit on either the intake or output nozzle. It will fit on the smallest "step" of the intake guard piece, but what good would that do? I also thought, maybe it is for water changes, but it is not nearly long enough, to be useful for that purpose. Although, these pumps are great for water changes. Just get some 5/8" inner diameter tubing, and stick it on the output nozzle.

Performs, but with issues
This powerhead has enough flow to power the undergravel filter in my 20 gallon long tank, but, in just one month of use, has developed a vibration that can be felt in the table the tank sits on and the side plug has fallen out and will not stay in place. It still functions, but not sure I can trust it.Currently looking for a replacement so that I can return this unit.Update 8/10/2020:I have wrapped the plug with several layers of plumbers tape, then shoved it back into the opening and now it seems to be staying in place. Kind of a duct tape fix for a design issue.Update 9/29/2020:Plug continues to fall out. Now I have used silicone RTV to bond it in place.Powerhead still works, but vibrates and now has a little rattle.

Worst powerhead I've ever seen
In 25+ years in the hobby this is _easily_ the most shoddily constructed pump I've ever seen. The box came out of shipping very banged up, the cord was just wrapped around the pump. I mean, I store my old pumps better than this thing was packaged as "new". The bottom cover doesn't seal against the impeller chamber so water constantly leaks around the bottom of the housing, causing the pump to have absolutely zero suction capability. All it does is churn water around the impeller. It won't even push water through a foot of plastic tubing on-level, much less provide any head-height lift. Even at $11 or whatever it is it's absolutely not worth the money and going back in the box today.

It worked great, for a few months
While it worked this little powerhead was perfect.nI bought it to add circulation in my 20-gallon Hex guppy tank. It went up quickly and served it's purpose and more. But it did not last long. I bought it in June of this year and it's already burnt out. I do weekly water changes of 35% or more. The pump along with my HOB received weekly maintenance (cleaned out the hose. Cleaned out the propeller area) but this powerhead still went Kaput. I'm disappointed.

Great Price/Product
I have this set up in my 20G planted tank as a means to diffuse my pressurized Co2. I simply drilled a small hole in the bottom and ran my Co2 line into the unit. It does a terrific job of shredding up the bubbles, as well as provides excellent flow throughout the tank. Compared to some of the more expensive Power Heads/Pumps, this product performs just as well for 1/2 the price. Very satisfied customer.

Power Head
In general, the power head is good. Low noise and small. It works well in a 210 Lts. tank so far.Cons:- It has 2 exits of air, so one of the air exits comes with a little think to close the exit of air but when I turn on the pump it goes out so no way to have only one exit of air which cause me some trouble.- Very poor instructions- I input the hose to a tube of my aquarium and it comes out every other day so quite annoyingPros:- Good price- Fast delivery- Very quiet- With a different setup maybe works better

Be wary of the casing
I use this primarily for weekly water changes on two large tanks with attached tubing from the hardware store. It's quick and effective and it is my only easy option since there are no Python adapters for my particular sinks. Very strong suction even with a long tube attached that sometimes gets twisted up.My biggest gripe is that after a month the plastic around the base started to crack, I presume from the water pressure, and I've had to constantly repair it with super glue ever since to get it to stay on otherwise when the pump is plugged in the suction is weak or won't even pump at all. It's not like I'm tossing it around or anything so it's just a weird fluke I guess, but I'd suggest being very cautious with it. I am a fan of Sun Sun products for the most part and even though I need to purchase another strong pump now I definitely won't try this one in particular again.

Does what I needed
I bought this to aid with water changes in my aquariums. I did have to purchase a longer hose for it (the one that came with is barely 2 feet long) and then use a hose clamp to keep it on, but that's not a part of the original design. What does keep this from being a 5 star review is that the nozzle part that swivels is prone to coming off if you're not careful with it. Overall, so far I'm happy with the purchase because water changes are a lot easier now.
