Works great for old T12 and newer T8 lamps
I had a super old fluorescent fixture on its original ballast (40+ years) that was having a hard time getting going in the morning (don’t we all lol). This made it work like new. This was the most reasonably priced one I could find (man have these gotten expensive in the last few years), and it was easy to install. Just match the wire colors and you are good to go. I’ll keep these folks in mind if I need another down the road for another fixture.

Easy to install, but watch the wire diagram!
I installed my ballast today on my basement light that quit working, praying it was just the ballast. The new ballast looks almost identical to my old Keystone one, but it’s a different manufacturer so there were very slight differences. The ballast was easy to uninstall, and I read someone else’s comment about how to get the wires to release out of the “tombstone” looking ends where the lights slide into. You just push a paper clip end into the smaller hole adjoined to the hole that the wire is already in, and it releases the wire. After wiring I plugged it in with fingers crossed. It lit up for just a second, and then stopped. I rechecked my connections, and it did the same thing. I rechecked the wiring diagram, and found I had not matched the wires on the ends to the bulbs as pictured, so after swapping the blue and yellow tombstones, all worked perfectly! Such a great money saving move to learn how to change out a ballast. The price was much better than others I considered, but the product looks just like the one I removed. Very happy!

Installation
My son used this for an 90’s fixture in our kitchen. Worked great! 8 wire to 10 wire but used diagram and got it done in about 30 minutes!

Easy Install, Clear Instructions 8 or10 wire installations same ballast
The old ballast was 40+ years old in our finished basement, I decided to stick with what I had dual bulb lights in a drop ceiling. This was easy to install (I am a handy woman) of 64 years. there are 2 wiring diagrams, once I confirmed that it could be wired 2 ways (8/10 wires) mine light doesn't use the brown wires. All wires long enough, (actually you could clip some off). The mounting space was pre-drilled for the original ballast and this one was about shorter. Hooked everything back up and the light was like brand new (or better) now it comes on immediately.

Convert to 40 inch LED tubes instead. Cheaper, look great, no pollution, last longer, and no adverse health effects.
This is VERY OLD technology dating to the 1980's. If you really want to save money and fix your lights at the same time, I strongly suggest you abandon the florescent technology and the electronic ballast and go LED. The bulbs are $12 each and far easier than installing a ballast. They consume much less power, last far longer, don't pollute our land fills, and the cost of this ballast will pay for one of them anyway. You will save $12 for the other bulb in less than a year, AND you can get bright bulbs. The LED conversion involves wiring the 110 volt wires directly to the bulbs - no ballast - just like wiring a standard bulb fixture, and although you can use the old florescent mounts, they include one new set of mounting hardware that you can use to replace the bulb holders at the end where you connect the 110. You simply cut all of the other wires at the other end, its used only for mechanical support with LED technology, and you can leave the old ballast in place, just cut all of its wires off.The result is nothing short of SPECTACULAR, its faster to install, uses less power, and there is NO HIGH VOLTAGE in your ceiling or interfering with your radio. Also, there are allegations that proximity to high voltage and florescent bulbs may cause specific types of cancer in women, who are the persons working under these lights in the kitchen in many households. BTW, you can return ALL of your old florescent bulbs to Home Depot who will dispose of them for you. They are dangerous devices, so be careful transporting them. (This is for California, I don't know if they do this everywhere).

READ THE DIAGRAM WELL ALL YOU 1 STAR REVIEWS
Ok, so I think many people are making a mistake when connecting their ballast. You are not following the instructions properly. For 8 wire connection, the BLUE goes with BLUE. Just because the brown is next to red doesn't mean you connect brown to blue. Read the diagram, I almost made the same mistake as all the 1 star reviews. Mine is working fine.
