For the Allergenic...
We have three cats... the third one we rescued a month ago. I've been allergic to animals with fur all my life, until I got my boyfriend, who came with two cats. So I had to quickly get over my allergies, which took about 6 months and a few inhalers. But for the most part I've gotten over the cat allergies. However, when we got the third cat a month ago, my allergies kicked in high gear: Itchy eyes, dry skin, sneezing, itchy skin, asthma and breathing issues. I'll just say it was not good. At all.So I went on an Amazon shopping trip, and bought three things: 1) Eureka 71B Hand-Held Vacuum, to vacuum all the cat hair and dander on the couches, since we hang out a lot in the living room. 2) The Honeywell HFD-120-Q Tower HEPAQuiet Air Purifier with Permanent IFD Filter for the living room to clean out the air, dander, spring pollen, and dust. And 3) The Hamilton Beach 04383 True Air Allergen-Reducing Air Cleaner for the bedroom to get the air cleaned out there from cat hair/dander, clothing dust, and bedsheet/blanket dust. (I also have those hypo-allergenic pillow covers that prevent dust and mites from infesting the pillow.)Air filters -- We actually already own the Honeywell HFD Tower and love it, except the oscillator broke so we moved it into another room (we like it because it's pretty easy to clean, very powerful and does its job). So we bought another one to get the air circulating better. Within the first 4 hours of running the air filters the air was noticeably cleaner and less thick. We left for a few drinks with friends, and by the time we got back, the air purifiers did a great job of cleaning and purifying the air. I could smell the difference in the air, and most importantly my lungs felt great! For the first time in a few months, I didn't have to walk into a wall of cat smells and thick gunky air. If you own pets, know what I'm talking about. The Eureka handvac - If you've got cat hair and dander as we do, THIS is the machine to fix your problems. The first time I fired up the machine, it picked up about a half inch of cat hair, dander, dust and whatever else! This is a white couch, so you can SEE if there's stuff on it... but it looked clean enough before I ran the vacuum on it... who knew there was so much hidden germies and hair all up in there?! Y'all better run this machine on your couch too and see what you pick up!Suffice to say, the vacuum is great, the air filters are very good, and the combination of them all is really helping my allergies. Thank goodness because it's been causing nights of insomnia. Now I get a good night's rest.

Good product
Works well. However when you first open it smells horrible. An industrial oder. Wash the filters before you use it following the manufacturer instructions. Then run it for a couple of hours. The smell will go away.

Just Makes Sense
Noise Level, impressingly quiet, Value, I purchased 4 and would purchase another one if I needed it, Freshness, I have a 14 year old boy, close is his, walk in later and its like magic...lol..... I run 24/7 on lowest setting, He also uses it on high as a fan while sleeping, My daughter is highly allergic to dust and Ive found myself giving her less allergy pills, we start Grastech for 3 to 5 years actually tomorrow to see if we can teach her allergy response how to deal with allergies, thats how bad it is with her. I have a Trane Hepa system also with same honeycomb hepa filters and when you dont think its doing anything, wash it in a tub and the dust almost stains the tub if you dont wash it out.... tbese units have the same honeycomb filters...... so i know its doing something, and at 24/7 on low, i have alot of faith in these units. Thank you Honeywell, this was the advise from out allergist and he mentioned for my daughters case not to worry about the 400 to 500 dollar units, just make sure its hepa for the dust allergy..... Last thing to add...... I purchased this for the washable filter......I would have like it to be alot easier to find the O.E.M. replacement filter for this 120q so I can pull 2 filters and wash them and dry them properly and have the other two to replace so I can keep the units running and get on a routine rotation with the hepa fiters rather then having to shut one off to rotate..... maybe this might be my excuse to purchase one more....hahaha... i like it!!!... shoot im doing it, one more after this comment....thats wY easier this getting maybe Hepa filters... the charcoal ones are easy...lol.... cheers

Cannot recommend enough. Lasted me 9 tough years and still going.
I don't often write reviews, but I had to for this product. I purchased this air purifier 9 years ago in 2008 to help with an apartment that just seemed to create dust out of thin air. It helped immensely. Since then it has survived a multitude of bumpy moves with me, including a road trip across the country, and then some. I even had it in storage for a good year and a half, and when I decided to clean it and plug it back in, it's still works like the first day I bought it.It definitely does what its supposed to do. Years ago I had a curious and skeptical roommate hold a burger behind the fan while he sniffed the "purified" air that came out the front. Sure enough, he could barely smell the burger.I cannot recommend this product enough. I can't think of anything I've ever purchased that's lasted me this long and worked so well. The inner filters are easy to clean, but the foam is a bit of a pain. I just saw that they have cheap foam replacements for $8. Done! The front of the filter also needs cleaning once in a while (very seldom), and that gets a little heinous - I recommend q-tips with the two different sized ends. The purifier is also super, super quiet. Seriously, after 9 years, on its highest setting it's still quieter than most white noise machines. If I could get some kind of commission, I would market this product all over the place. What brought me here today is just that I'm looking to purchase another one to keep in a bedroom.
