I have decided that owning a chameleon will be good for me,and the chameleon.. So I am reading all the books I can before I actually buy my first chameleon. This book is a wonderful source of info on the selection of a healthy chameleon.Housing,feeding,basking,temperament,and all-around complete info for the newbie. I want to make sure I can care for a chameleon properly,and the info in this book is perfect for beginner or long-time keepers. I took many notes as I read,and will add them to my chameleon files. As a Biologist, as well as a Nurse, reading about one of the Most Holy Allah’s beings, which can change his or her appearance, in such a dramatic way, is very educational !!

Doesn't provide as much depth as I would like when it comes to caring for these animals. The text is a bit small and it's a bit difficult to differentiate between the "Care" sections and the "Informational" sections. Otherwise, there's a ton of cool facts and interesting tidbits. When it comes to a care guide, it needs work.

This book was awesome in going over the various types of chameleons and how to care for them. They are not a *one size fits all* type of creature. I hope in the future to combine what's in the book to what I've learned on line from breeders to good use. A very good place to start learning about chameleons.

While this is a short book, the detail is great. This book gives the reader a basic understand of the chameleons it covers. I would suggest this book for anyone looking to obtaining a Jackson, Panther, Veiled or Parson's. Read this book and choose the best chameleon(s) for you.

Very helpful

Good info on the natural history and brief, but pertinent info on basic requirements for a few different chameleons. Not a bad read for someone just thinking about keeping them as pets.

There was plenty of information on the chameleons mentioned on the cover, however when purchasing this item I was lead to believe it covered more species also. It does not. And it covers a very US spectrum, so not ideal for the British. Whilst reading, I did discover a few new details I did not know before, geographicallly. However it also contains some suggestions, which probably should be left out, as they would not work in the UK/could be misleading. Overall, the book is well written, and if you only want the knowledge on the basic species mentioned, its worth buying second hand.

I found this to be very informative, giving information on both captive care and natural enviroment on all four species, is a great help to trying to recreate as natural a home for the chameloens to inhabit as possible, including breeding as well.
