Save your money and buy elsewhere. First you have to change the device region to where ever your DVDs are from. Unless you are in China that is. Second, the player simply does not play DVDs. I tried multiple different media players and VLC got the closest by loading a very glitchy DVD menu. I also tested multiple different DVDs. The Avengers being the only one which even semi loaded the main menu. All that was after messing with the media player streaming functionalities to even play the DVD, since if you try to play it any other way, it makes you install some crap software, which also doesn't even play the DVD.Since I bought this to write content to blank DVDs, I decided to try to do that, in which case it didn't even allow writing to the disc. And yes, I was using the correct disc type, and since I was being paranoid and had some other disc types laying around, I decided to try those as well, which, surprise! also didn't work.Besides it completely not working, it is kind of loud and has a very short USB connector.

Burns about half of my DVDs. The other half it cannot read or burns with errors. I tried in my Mac burner and had better luck with all of my discs working. I purchased this mainly for burning so it was a fail. I tried reading DVDs and it's ok. It has a hard time reading sometimes and it takes a while to find the data and makes all the jerky noises for a few minutes. Overall not worth it. Cheap junk. I was using a win7 PC with the standard windows burning software.

This product exceeded my expectations and was extremely easy to use. Just simply "plug and play" and that's it. It doesn't come with a carry case, but Amazon sells many for less than $10 and even recommends some during the checkout process. This was one of the easiest purchases I've ever made. You will not be disappointed with this product.

So far it has worked on 4 out of 5 notebooks. I hoped for better but price wise can’t complain

Just received this a few days ago to replace my broken DVD drive. The product got to me quickly...packaging was great...easy to use...and looks great for the price. I have been using it daily and so far so good.December 2018Been using this device constantly...still working great....and IMO and great value.

for the price it was good- I brought it for my husband so he could play an old game on it - smh lol a big kid

I use this device for children to play cartoon, it is very convenient to use, no complex operation, even the children can operate. Video picture is very smooth, My children like it very much.
