Great for control decks. I run a mono white life gain/control deck and this allows me to get mana quickly for my high cost creatures and spells. Well worth being a 3 drop.

An uncommonly good mana ramping creature. He will really boost your curve and let you play the many higher cost artifacts especially in the new Mirrodin block. Very solid and playable creature.
