MERCURY OEM SmartCraft SC1000 Monitor Kit 79 879896K21

It purchased this from Leaders RPM, good guys to deal with no complaints what so ever.The product does what it says and was easy to install.The only down side was I had to pick up a female to female adapter cable to attach it to my current harness.

Works as expected on my 03 150 sw efi 2stroke. I decided to get rid of all my gauges on my seafox and use digital gauges to save some dash space to eventually add my navigation units into the main console. I also have NMEA 2k installed on my engine and monitor range etc from NMEA on my garmin. I have not figure out how to set engine trim on the device yet but I will this year. I have been using this for 2 years now. Last Oct 2023 when out and got alarms. Had to shut the engine down in the middle of the bay. Look at my manual to see what the symbols stand for. Told me my oil was low in engine mounted tank and my impller was not pushing enough pressure and the engine was overheating. FIxed the issue bleed the old tank, add new impeller and wala. Worth having smart craft on your merc engine.

Connected diirectly to my 2018 40ELPTJet with the 84-879982B20 harness. Displays engine hrs, fuel used, oil press, water temp, etc. Easy hook-up after I removed the (blank) male connector from the harness on the motor.

Also had to order the 25' blue cable to get it hooked up to my 90 HP outboard but otherwise was plug in and play with it. Love all the functions it has on such a small gauge. Primarily wanted for hours, oil pressure, and water temp/pressure and it works like a charm

Worked great. Mostly wanted a gauge to replace my failing analog tachometer, but that would also give me actual fuel flow. This single gauge also provides several other readings. The hardest part was running another wire (additional purchase to get the length necessary) from the engine up to the helm.

This is not the greatest product. It is hard to program all functions with a brand new Mercury four stroke that should be virtually plug and play. Tilt angle for example I still have not figured out. Also it is the bare minimum of information on an archaic display.

Great for any boat and really easy to install

Initially did not work on my 2017 built Mercury 60HP ELPT motor. Could not detect the ECM in the motor. Mercury tech support said to return it. Turns out this unit does not work with the supplied 3 foot cable going directly to the motor. The supplied cable is only used if you are connecting to a junction box for monitoring multiple motors. If you only have one motor you must buy the 20 foot cable which has termination resistors built in to both ends.
