Because I’m old AF, Activewear really isn’t my jam. I prefer a more classic look for every day. However two life events took place that made me change my mind. The first was a 17-pound Pandemic weight gain. If I had a dollar for every bag of tortilla chips I consumed during the last six months, I would be able to afford to move back to NYC! And not have to work! The second event was cataract surgery ( and yes-when you get old it’ll happen to you!). Forgetting about the impact this pandemic has in connection on healthcare, I recently had the first of two cataract surgeries. Dopey me. I wore a little black dress thinking I would have to change in a hospital gown. Instead, I had to wear my lbd during surgery! Not wanting to expose my gorgeous panties or worse, a blanket was placed over me.Needless to say my thoughts were “NFW am I wearing a dress to my next surgery”. And so, I let my fingers do the walking over to Amazon! And I found these leggings/ pants/ activewear thingies. Oh am I thrilled with them!Regardless of my expanding hips, thighs and gut, I went with the Medium. At 5’6” and 157 lbs, the fit is fabulous! My gut is sucked in and the high waist is super Post-menopause friendly! I’ll admit, these could be a tad longer in the leg but it isn’t a deal-breaker!The fabric is thick and opaque so you can keep transparency for your personality rather than what you’re wearing!And these have pockets!! Holy Cannoli! Pockets! When I go back for my second cataract surgery, I can slide my insurance cards and IDin one pocket and my cell phone in the other! This is epic as purses aren’t allowed at the surgical center! Who knew that this activewear would come in handy as surgical attire? And I can work out too! Well, I’m lazy so let’s just say I can walk my dog in these pants!The price is right, the fit is flattering and fabulous Nd I need another pair! These are great! I’m 5’8” 150# and the medium fits perfectly. They don’t ride and they don’t sag. It’s a medium weight fabric - not too thin but thick enough to feel secure. They are soft on the legs and no itchy parts around the waist. It’s a solid black color that has not faded in a couple of washes so far. I like the location of the pockets closer to the hips rather than by the knees. I look forward to wearing these a long time.

Purchased The Gym People thick high waist capri leggings in Black in size Medium. I'm 5 feet 7 inches, 153 pounds, waist 32 inches, hips 42 inches. Referring to the two size charts if going by waist hip/measurement (first image) I probably should have purchased size L or XL.Going by the 2nd image, it indicated between 5'7" and 5'8" and 150-170 pounds, I needed size Medium. I went with the Medium. They fit but are quite tight especially in the waist. I have to pull quite firmly to get them up over my thighs to fit comfortably in the crotch area - so maybe a Large would have been more comfortable? The good thing is that once on, they don't move about or ride down which means no thigh chafing. I really like the extra wide waistband with tummy control compression as I feel everything is firmly 'held in place' when wearing them and I have not had any problems with the waistband rolling down or folding over. The material is thick but stretchy - absolutely not see-through at all so no panties showing through the material in the butt area - and I'm able to move about comfortably. Only just noticed the listing says 'hand wash only' which I probably should have paid attention to but I've put them through the washing machine with no problem at all - they kept their shape, no pilling, and no stretching out of the waist.

Nice compression capri leggings. Material is thick and good quality, but not as thick as the “ewedoos” brand. 2 thigh pockets, one on each side, perfect fit for a cell phone. The marble look is cool. I like different looks instead of being plain. Overall, great value. I’m pleased. I only wear them to tighten my sagging skin from weight loss. Perfect fit. After wearing them for a while, I like how they feel, however I don’t like how the back flips down when you sit down causing a thin bunched up feeling on your lower back. Rather annoying that they keep flipping down. But they are high enough to go over your bellybutton by about 5-6 inches. Loving the pockets because they are deep enough to hide your cell phone inside. I bought a size small this time because the medium stretches out on the shins within 3 hours of wearing them. I am 5.1- 135 pounds and they fit perfectly snug, and reach halfway down from my knee to ankle. I really hope this review helps you out when making the purchase. Please see my attached photos. I like how the material is thicker than others. The quality is good, the fit is good and they are comfortable. I like having the 2 pockets so I don't have to cram my phone and keys in one pocket. I would like to see more brighter fun colors. Will purchase again and in longer length for fall and winter time.

So, I just wore these to a workout for the first time. Honest feedback, compared to my other non-gym-people leggings:-The material is comfortable at first, but once you start moving in them, they begin to feel pretty dry and fibrous, even itchy.-The elastic waistband on these is like, TOO elastic. This is also okay initially, but 30-40mins into a workout and that extra elasticity around your waist is more annoying than anything.-Finally- I’m also not super impressed with how they look. Compared to others, they do look a bit cheap. But, you get what you pay for.Overall, these are okay. I’ll hang onto them and keep them in my rotation. But I’m not gonna buy more.
