It works, had to reach to find a complaint
Had two fobs that were broken or wobbly, key worked fine as did the remote functions. Stumbled across the fob shell and decided to give it a try.If you are going to do this might as well change the battery while you are at it. Takes a CR1616.There were no instructions with the two fobs (sold as a pair). An inspection revealed how it should be done.1. Remove the tiny screw on the backside (buttons on the front).2. Pry the case apart. There is a small indentation near the key. The case opens towards the key ring end held in place by a tab. The are two parts inside the fob.3. Lift the electronics package out of the fob. Using a paint brush (any light brush will do) clean the outside of the electronic package.4. Carefully, gently, and with great care, slightly lift one of the tabs on either end of the electronic package. Lift the cover exposing the battery. Replace with a new CR1616. Replace the cover. Test the buttons to make sure they work. If not check the battery is installed correctly. Its easy to put it in backwards.5. Remove the key from the old fob. Wiggling (with your tongue held just so) helps immensely.6. Insert the key into the new gob. Make certain it is seated properly. If the screw hole can be seen through the fob case you done good.7. Please the electronics package (button side towards the holes in the fob) in the fob.8. Close the fob by inserting the tab on the key ring end into its corresponding hole.9. Close the fob and snap in place. The only issue, ans this is a reach is the Honda sticker was difficult to put on. Took me a minute to figure out the adhesive needed to be placed on the badge.Don't know about durability since its new. Looks well made. Beat paying big buck at Honda for a stinking fob.

Works as a Replacement
Got this to replace my original honda key fob. Within a week of use the casing broke or chipped off near where the key housing sits. Good price point though. Glad that they come as a pair once this one fails will replace it with the other. It would be great though if hard plastic was used to make the fob mould but at price point what would you expect.

Fantastic value. Brought my key back to life!
I got this to replace the key fob shell for my 2007 Honda Civic. My original shell had a broken key ring and was no longer staying together in one piece. The install process was very easy. Apparently some keys have a transceiver chip as a separate unit glued in the shell, while others have the transceiver in the same unit as the remote hardware. I was fortunate enough to have the latter, so it was as simple as moving the blade and the remote hardware over. The build feels solid and the fit is nice and snug. A local Batteries Plus wouldn’t just sell me a new shell, and wanted to insist on making a new key fob for 10x what I wound up paying for this. Completely worth it!

You need to file some
OK, the manufacturing tolerances were not good. The bracket holding the key stem needed filing on the insides of the sides. You can compare both brackets and see what needs to filed. The bracket needs to fit in the slot at the bottom half of the case. It slides into the slot. If it doesn't, it has to be filed. So one of two are good units but the other was bad. It took me about 30 minutes of figuring this out because it didn't snap in and I was wondering if it needed to be forced in. I'm glad I compared the two and came up with a non-damaging method to do it. I would also say that the screw supplied was a bit smaller than the original and it was much longer. So one of my keys has the screw head sticking out and not tightly in. YMMV.

Great for the price. Easy to use.
The key this kit helped us salvage is very expensive. To have an affordable DIY kit with TWO shells for under $10 is just mind-blowing.PROS: Easy to move the parts from one shell to another after watching YouTube video demonstration. Affordable solution (under $10). OEM key shells are ~$30/each. Comes with a screwdriver (see cons).CONS: The included screwdriver isn't a great fit for the tiny screws. It's a little bigger than the screw itself. It works, but I felt like I was in danger of stripping the screw's head with it, so I used a smaller screwdriver.OVERALL: *May* not be as sturdy as OEM shell (only time will tell), but it's pretty close in appearance. I can afford to replace the shell many times over before I ever near the OEM shell cost much less the staggering total key replacement cost.

They work!
I came across these by accident while on facebook and read a pretty bad review but the need for these outweighed the one bad review and most of the others were positive. There is something about these keys that are just so weak. We've had a few fall to pieces and when that happens the trouble starts. If the key gets separated from the fob you can't start the car and it's easy to lose when broken. This was an easy quick fix that saved us replacing the entire key. There is always a possibility of things going wrong, so just keep that in mind. They are just as weak and breakable as the original but cheap enough I don't mind buying a couple times of year to save the hassle.

Fits nicely, works well, does the jpb
The small screwdriver that came with the cases was machined improperly and was useless as a screwdriver, but that is not why I bought the key fob shell casings. I wanted to repair my broken keys without the high expense of having new keys cut. The item comes with two shell casings which was great for me because both my keys were broken, but even if you need only one, these two cost less than one of some of the other manufacturers available. The adhesive pads that are used to attach the Honda logo to the casing are tricky to work with. They are so thin I destroyed the first one and had to use rubber cement to attach the logo. It would have been better if the logos were attached at the factory by the manufacturer. I am well pleased with my purchase. They look great and work well. Now it just remains to be seen how durable they are.
