Great ideas!!!

I checked out this book at my local library and it is very good. The book has the recipe for their trademark Frrrozen Hot Chocolate it gives the directions and the ingredients but you will have to experiment on finding best-quality chocolate. There is also the recipe for the $1000 Golden Opulence Sunday if you can get all the ingredients if you can't get it there is the Poor Man's Version of Golden Opulence. Also included in the book there are plenty of homemade ice cream recipes, different types of sauces and toppings.

I have made dozens of ice creams. From this book I really felt that the technique was off here for the frozen hot chocolate. Although the ingredient list was good, if I would have made the frozen hot chocolate according to the directions I would have ended up with chunky chocolate mess from the warm chocolate being combined with cold milk. Make sure you heat the milk before mixing with the chocolate. I was also very disappointed in the pistachio ice cream recipe. There is the possibility that I made it wrong but given how many ice creams I have made I doubt it. The recipe calls for milk and half and half. These two were not thick enough to make a good ice cream. The ice cream ended up very icy and looked like frozen pea soup instead of the photo. I have not tried the other recipes so far but lets hope they are better than these other two. My guess is that serendipity buys their pistachio ice cream cause that was a joke.
