The Inbetweeners [DVD]

Follows on well from the TV series with laugh out loud moments!
The Inbetweeners Movie certainly plays to it's comedic strengths, but lacks a bit in the plot. The film seemed to have no real direction in certain parts, something overlooked due to how funny it was at the time. However, the majority of the audience haven't really come to see a gripping storyline. A good watch!

I liked it.
There are a few things about the Inbetweeners movie that makes you go "hmmm?" Most of these things revolve around Carly being such a total Bit... Well, you can figure it out. Her relationship with Simon has always been awkward, but she was never downright cruel or selfish. In the movie, she seems to be nothing more than a horrible person that takes advantage of Simon's obsession. It doesn't quite fit her persona from the television show.Neil is another character who seems to switch from bumbling idiot who doesn't know better to devious liar. It seems completely off for the character who "can't promise that" whenever you ask him not to do something to suddenly be trying to trick everybody around him. Those two characters aside, the rest of Inbetweeners works pretty well. The relationship between the four boys is still strong and interesting, the jokes hit and actually made me laugh loudly on a few occasions. This isn't the kind of movie you should go into for oscar winning performance or deep character driven drama. It's about horny boys and sexy girls meeting up in a romantic location. The boys struggle to have sex, and the girls are much kinder and forgiving towards them on film than they would ever be in real life.If you have Prime, you can currently view the television show for free, if you don't, think of American Pie, it's close enough to that.

Brilliant!
Worthy climax to its original series. I wish all school Principles were as straight forward.

Not the worst "raunchy" film I've seen
More co** and the boys than I'd like to look at but only because there was 1 boob in comparison. Still not the worst flick

Hilarious
I typically wait for all shows to be free on a streaming service. Bought this because I saw all free episodes available and wanted to see the movies, too. This show is clever and laugh of loud funny. Especially if you're a fan of British comedies, this is a Don't Miss!

Not funny or redemptive. Just pathetic.
Wow. Whoever said, "You either get English humor or you don't" was wrong. This wasn't humor. I like some British humor, but this wasn't it. Tastelessness and evil behavior just for the sake of tastelessness and evil behavior is not humor. There are dumb movies that are hard not to laugh at, maybe the Van Wilder series, for example. Those movies sometimes, but not always, offer some redemption for their foolish heroes, and when they don't it's okay, because they're not meant to be redemption stories. The characters in some comedies are, admittedly, complete caricatures. This wasn't just "not a redemption story." It is a story where any decent human would hope against any contrived "redemption," because the characters not only don't deserve it, they are so insulated in their mean-spirited, ignorant sense of abusive privilege that they wouldn't recognize it if it smacked them in the face. The male characters weren't just funny caricatures. They were vile, and show nothing deserving of the slightest bit of redemption. There was only one of the male characters who wasn't a complete t*rd or an idiot, and he, for some reason, chose to immerse himself in the hateful, stupid t*rdishness and idiocy of his so-called friends. The women WERE caricatures, largely vapid and one-dimensional, throwing themselves at these obvious trainwrecks because they have no sense of self. What an awful stereotype!!Complete, unrepentant misogyny? Check. Unashamed, mean-spirited abuse of Little People? Check. Complete, self-absorbed, elitist ignorance of every other human around? Check, from the future "sociology major," of course. There's a joke there, of course, that Mr. Clueless couldn't read people if his life depended upon it, and he's the one saying he's going to school for "Sociology," and the writers couldn't even capitalize on it; the moment drops like a limp pillow. I waded through the entirety of it, hoping for something that was worth something. It wasn't there. This movie is not funny, is not redemptive, is not the slightest bit decent. It is despicable. I don't think I've ever said that about a movie before. It's 1 hr and 37 minutes you will never get back, so, you know, just don't. It's not worth it.

Brilliantly and hilariously vulgar
This movie was a step in the right direction from the show in my opinion. As the boys grow older,so does some of the sassy and inappropriate things they do and say. 30 seconds in and I was already laughing loudly. The best part of it all is every single character is played by the same actor/actress, that's sometimes rare in a Tv to movie situation so its definitely worth buying and/or renting. You'll most likely cry from laughing so hard. :)

Very Funny
I have always loved The Inbetweeners. I watch all of the series frequently and find them all hilarious. I then grabbed the chance to see this big-screen spin-off in 2011, when it was released in cinemas. In the past, I have found big-screen spin-offs of TV sitcoms a bit "hit and miss" in terms of their overall quality. After watching this, I changed my mind. I thought that the film was hilarious, with almost constant gags and jokes throughout the entire film. Most of the film is very crude and with a lot of "toilet humour" in the script, but fans of the series will already be aware of this. In fact, it's one of the main reasons why we love it so much! I then bought the film on DVD, so that I could watch it and enjoy it all over again. Believe me, if you love the series then you will certainly love this too, because it's more of the same. There is a smattering of familiar characters from the series, along with some new faces. Mr Gilbert, the sixth form head teacher pops up at the start in a cameo role, but he was as amusing as ever. I thought it was a pity that the scriptwriters couldn't find more for him to do in the film, but then I guess you can't always have what you want. I still found the film hilarious, though. Any fans of The Inbetweeners will love this, as I already said. It's also much better than the woeful sequel that followed. I give it four stars, because it's essential viewing for modern comedy fans. Just don't bother with the sequel, because it's crap, trust me.

Excellent spinoff movie from a brilliantly funny TV series!
Always enjoyed the Inbetweeners TV series, finding them extremely amusing and well acted.I also often found them to be poignant and accurate depictions of what it can be like growing into teenagers.I saw this at the pictures when it was first released, with my then teenage son, back in 2011?We both wondered how it would work on the Big Screen - spinoff movies are often not a patch on the TV series. However, we needn't have worried as the film played out like an extended TV episode.Easily 4/5 for humour, touching relationships and Jay's surprising holiday romance - being very poignant!Shame there wasn't a bigger role for Mr Gilbert - he's very funny in his cameo role but more from him would have made this a 5 star experience!!Still, it's a very sold 4 star film and comes 100% recommended!Especially at its current bargain price!

The Inbetweeners movie is very funny, if your a fan of the tv series it had, then you'll love this one. It setting is in Greece, on the island of konos. Will & CO go there for a fun time after they graduated from their hem hem, highschool to meet girls and have fun. Very funny things happen once they get to the island. It is a must see if you haven't already seen it yet !!!.

Carry on inbetween
I can imagine there are those who have not heard of The Inbetweeners, after all, it has been well hidden away on E4 for its three-series run. However, I can't imagine there are that many people who have seen the show and not enjoyed the film. If you've watched the series, you'll love the film. If you haven't seen a TV episode then I advice you to borrow a DVD from a friend (ask around - someone will have one) and check it out first. And, even if you haven't seen the TV series, this is pretty good fun. I guess its target audience is mainly young men who have lived through those precarious teenage years of uncertainty, drinking and (attempted) womanising. Women seem to enjoy it too - mainly because the four male stars continue to make a fool of themselves. In fact, I don't know any person under 35 who doesn't like it. The only people I've met who don't `get it' are my mum and a friend's mum. There's a reason it's one of the highest-grossing British comedies of all time and that's because it's pretty damn funny!Basically, it's about four lads who leave school and go on a drunken holiday to the a Greek island (I forget which one). There, they get into all manner of embarrassing scrapes. As it says on the sleeve - think American Pie meets Peep Show. There are plenty of cringe-worthingly bad moments for the stars and expect a fair amount of bad language, nudity and plenty of laughs. Basically, it's like everything that a Richard Curtis movie isn't!I found it like what a `Carry On...' film might be like if it was written today and the humour carries over from the TV series well - you'll laugh out loud more often than not. It does slow a bit towards the end, but it's definitely more hit than miss. Also, it teaches a guy not to put too much gel in his hair and don't pass out face down on an ants' nest.

Hooray, for not ruining the series with a bad film!
I love the inbetweeners.Of course I do.It's effing brilliant, isn't it?!I was so excited for this movie and sat in anticipation as it came on in the cinema.I guess I expected something similar to Kevin and Perry Go Large, but more modern.I think the film is watchable by people who've never seen the show, and the characters have their own introductions. Is it as good as the show? No, it's not. But it's up there. The back-and-forth humour could have felt stale after an hour and a half, but the directors knew what they were doing and therefore this didn't happen. So, it's a lads' holiday set in Malia (though, filmed somewhere else and made to look like Malia). They all want to get laid.Simon is still trying to get over Carlie.Neil has an amazing line in this film...Simon says (no, we're not playing a game here) "You should bring your ball to the beach Neil"Neil: "Can I will?" (So funny)Will: "Yes Neil... Yes you can"Will is chasing a girl clearly out of his league. I love Will the most. Witty, nerdy and extremely lovable.Jay is most keen to 'get it onnnnn' with the ladies, and acts like a bit of a douche in the film... a lovable douche.(Yes, I love all these guys). The film includes sex, LOTS OF HUMOUR, fall-outs, stupid bits, AMAZING DANCE MOVES and much more.If you haven't seen this yet, BUY IT.Or else.... I WILL KEEP PRESSING CAPS LOCK AND USING EXPLANATION MARKS!!!!!!!!!!!Great film, and good to watch with friends/family.5 *s
