Good pinpointer at given price. Detects small object like ex. small Screws, stepller pin, small iron pieces, silver, gold rings and many metal objects. Gold nuggets not found yet.Depending on size it detects objects upto 6 inches. the Only thing it is partially submercible in water.

It's very good product in this price range so simple and easy to operate, good result found tiny things, it's performance is excellent

It starts up very good and very loud. Let you know where the cones are but sometimes it keeps beeping when you take it away from the from the coin, a foot away is still beeps other that is very good

UPDATE: I informed customer service of the problems I was experiencing and they have been nothing but helpful. Always love to see a company that owns up to it's mistakes and doesn't try to just sweep them (and you) under the rug!!The Good:-The build quality of this pinpointer is exceptional-Easy to use, single button operation-Seems fairly water resistant (good seal on battery compartment-Comes with belt holster so you feel like Indiana Jones whenever you whip it outThe Bad:-Very sensitive to the signals put out by my main metal detector. If my main detector is within 5 feet of the pinpointer, the pinpointer will go crazy and register false positives non-stop. It is annoying to have to stop and place my main detector far away from the digging spot or turn it off every time I wish to use the pinpointer. Not sure if this is just something you have to do with all pinpointers no matter what but it's definitely an annoyance with this one.-Wish it were a little more accurate in terms of the actual pinpointing. It definitely picks up the objects well/is sensitive enough for small things, but often times it's hard to tell if the object is below or beside the device.

I own 2 high end pinpointers one of which is in the shop and one that's erratic. I purchased this as a backup. Like most technical gadgets these day, my White's and Fisher, have way too many complicated options which for me, aren't necessary. Ricomax single single press on and off without further settings is easy to use.Could be better:Since the unit IS NOT waterproof, a second button allowing off and on selection of light, sound and vibrate would be nice.I read reviews stating this unit is waterproof. The lower portion BELOW the light is waterproof but not above.I also saw reviews stating 2 to 4 inches of depth. I air tested penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and a token. Nickel and token showed 2 inches while the others were in the 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inch range.The cap is a dull dark yellow and does not have a hole to attach lanyard. You can drill a hole and paint the cap a brighter orange or lime green to find it easier.

Only issue light doesn't operate on its own.

The first one that was shipped the middle LED did not work and I was not convinced about the sensitivity. I asked for an exchange from Amazon. They shipped me another replacement immediately and allowed me to drop off the original at the UPS store, sending it in for free. I'm impressed with this one. I tested it where I generally knew there were two property markers. I waved the wand on its side in order to cover a large area. It detected a marker and then I use the point to get a more precise reading. I'm very pleased. I will be using this in the woods in order to mark off our property borders because we have a tree that is coming down on the neighbors and I want to make sure I clear what's mine or not what's theirs.
