When this trick was invented, back in the 1950's, it was called “The Atomic Lamp.” Easy to perform, this apparently ordinary incandescent light bulb can be illuminated by screwing it into your hand, or holding it over someone's head (They are having a brilliant idea!). Then blow it out! Works incredibly well with the Magic Lamp Socket, sold separately.

This Light Bulb was perfect for my 10 year old son to take to school for a presentation he had to do - Thomas Edison! All I can say is that the kids got such a kick out of it - all the boys seemed to gather around him to see it. This really took the pressure off of him being scared of having to talk in public.. gave him something to focus on! The bulb is Plastic and we used a piece of tin foil to make it light up, the seller was super helpful and even through in a couple of extra things for him. How long lasting is it? I have no idea, but it served it's purpose and it worked as expected. I would highly recommend.

doesn't work very well
the first light i received did not work but they replaced it immediately. Then the second bulb would barely turn on and only worked using foil and not just any type of metal as described.

it's too bad the bulb is so 'frosted' - it makes it look too fake ( which, of course - it is) - if the bulb was clear - like a normal bulb - the effect would be MUCH better !
