Well engineered torch. Very very bright.

Bought this for a friend who kept twisting her ankles on paths at night. Seems all good so far. This torch is supplied with the standard and easily available 3000mAh 3.7v 18650 cell by UltraFire (which can be bought separately and charged using the charger for backup) and the triple-AAA carrier for added convenience. Seems well built for the price. Torch emits a bright light and focus is adjustable. I've not tested durability or for how long the battery lasts under full power conditions. I presume it is not waterproof (submersible) but can probably tolerate rain. One thing I noticed is that the charger unit is very plastic and lightweight and got quite warm when charging. There is a LED indicator which changes from red to green once charging is complete. I kept an eye on it and disconnected from the mains supply once charging was completed. The cell was partly charged on arrival and I charged it fully before handing the torch to my friend. From my experience the UltraFire cells are of good quality and there is a 3600 mAh variant available which, in theory, would extend the run-time of this torch. However, I have not used one in this torch or attempted to charge one using the charger unit supplied. If you have another charging option available then this could be a viable option as a backup supply for this torch. Anyway, for the price, this device appears to be of good build quality and should be sufficient for the general use where a bright light and low power consumption solution is required.

My dad wanted a torch for Christmas. I was instructed not to get a small one as he wanted a traditional one but they are few and far between. This was the largest I could find.When it arrived it had to be tested. It was very bright and illuminated the bottom of the garden well. It also fits in the hand nicely and has a good weight.I don’t know about charging as it was a present but I would definitely buy one if I was after a torch myself.

I bought this for my 85 year old mother who has failing eyesight and was find her door lock etc hard to see. It is lightweight and bright with the added bonus of a zoom. More importantly it is easy for her to use,press button to turn on and pull up like an umbrella to zoom. Nothing complicated to confuse her and she can see to put her key in door lock and open her post box etc. Well worth the small cost in comparison to some on the market.

Just like the one I had before but gave wrongly a bad review, this is a great torch for its price, one thing to look out for is the screw on lens cap coming undone in your pocket then without noticing losing the glass lens on the end, I put 2 spots of glue holing the lens in and put tape on the outside of screw cap solving this problem, brilliant little torch and seller.

This is so good I sometimes use it as a bedside lamp, as I haven't found any I like to replace my old ones I threw out yet! I also use it for walking the dogs! So, it may get more use than it should when I'm reading in bed, which might account for the amount of charging it needs with me!

Like the fact that you can use a supplied rechargeable battery or a cassette of three AAAs that fills the same space. Zoom can be used to add length of vision and brightness closer up. Great little torch.
